Does NOT fit:

DT vs. DS platform identification: Both the DT (new body) and DS Classic (old body) Ram 1500 were sold simultaneously through 2024. If you're unsure which platform you have, look at the rear suspension. The DT has coil-spring rear suspension. The DS Classic has leaf-spring rear suspension. If your Ram has leaf springs in the rear, this kit will not fit.

Rebel and Off-Road Package note: Ram 1500 Rebel or trucks with the factory Off-Road Group package come with additional factory lift. Installing this 6" kit on a Rebel will result in approximately 1/2" front-high rake with the preload spacer installed, or approximately 3/8" nose-low without it. Plan wheel and tire clearance accordingly.

Factory 22" wheel note: Ram 1500 DT trucks optioned with factory 22" wheels use a larger wheel bearing assembly and require the larger bore steering knuckles. Reference build codes WPM or WPZ to confirm if your truck has the 22" wheel package before ordering.

Rear lift design note: The DT Ram 1500 uses a coil-spring rear suspension — this kit replaces the rear coil springs entirely at 5 inches of lift. This is a full coil spring replacement, not an add-a-leaf, coil spacer, or block lift. The 1-inch front-to-rear differential (6" front / 5" rear) is the standard practice for load-carrying trucks — under payload, the rear compresses and the truck levels. Empty, it maintains a slight nose-up rake.

What Is and Is NOT Included

Factory Protection Plus warranty included: Zone Offroad's Kit includes the Factory Protection Plus coverage — Zone's Limited Lifetime Warranty on the kit components, ESC system compatibility confirmation, and a 5-year/100,000-mile drivetrain warranty. Critical Compatibility

Platform identification is the highest-risk ordering error on this SKU. Ram sold two completely different Ram 1500 architectures side-by-side through 2024 — the DT (new body, coil rear suspension) and the DS Classic (old body, leaf rear suspension). This kit is engineered for the DT. Ordering it for a DS Classic will result in components that do not fit any mounting point on the truck.

TRX exclusion is absolute. The Ram 1500 TRX uses different suspension geometry, different control arm mounting points, and a different shock package from the factory. This kit does not fit the TRX. There is no modification path to make it work.

Air suspension trucks require verification. The 4-corner air suspension system on optioned DT Ram 1500 trucks uses different suspension mounting interfaces and ride height management systems. Zone Offroad's own product page excludes "w/o Air Ride" from the confirmed fitment. Do not assume compatibility on an air-ride-equipped truck without confirming with Zone or OFAS first.

Factory 22" wheel trucks need different knuckles. The 22" wheel option (build codes WPM or WPZ) uses a larger wheel bearing assembly that requires larger bore steering knuckles. This is an important spec to confirm before ordering — installing the standard bore knuckles on a 22" wheel truck will result in incorrect fitment at the wheel bearing.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Advanced — professional installation required. This system involves front crossmember replacement, steering knuckle replacement, differential drop brackets, and rear coil spring replacement. Do not attempt DIY unless you have experience with full suspension system replacements on IFS trucks.

Full 4-wheel alignment mandatory after installation. Budget for alignment at the time of scheduling installation — do not drive on public roads without alignment after installing new crossmembers, knuckles, and differential brackets.

Tools required: Full suspension tool set including spring compressor, press for knuckle work, torque wrench (required — never estimate torque on steering and suspension fasteners), and alignment access.

Torque specification: Torque all fasteners to Zone Offroad specification included with the kit documentation. Do not substitute estimated torque values on structural suspension and steering fasteners.

Re-torque: Re-torque all suspension fasteners after 500 miles of break-in driving.

Tire and wheel clearance: Verify your specific tire size, wheel offset, and backspacing combination clears all suspension, fender, and brake hardware at full articulation and full steering lock before driving.

Common Questions

How do I know if my Ram 1500 is a DT or DS Classic?
Look at the rear suspension. The DT platform has coil springs in the rear — visible as a coil spring sitting on a cup above the rear axle. The DS Classic has leaf springs — flat stacked steel springs running longitudinally under the truck. If your Ram has leaf springs, this kit will not fit.

Does this fit the Ram 1500 TRX?
No. The TRX uses different suspension architecture and is explicitly excluded from this kit's fitment. There is no modification path.

My Ram is a Rebel — will this fit?
Yes, but with a ride height caveat. The Rebel comes with additional factory lift that changes the net lift calculation. With the preload spacer installed, a Rebel will sit approximately 1/2" front-high. Without the preload spacer, it will sit approximately 3/8" nose-low. Plan your wheel and tire selection for the actual net geometry.

My Ram has 22" factory wheels — is there anything special I need?

Why is the rear lift 5 inches instead of 6?
The 1-inch front-to-rear differential is intentional. Trucks that carry bed loads — which is what Ram 1500s are designed to do — compress the rear suspension under payload. The 5-inch rear with a 6-inch front produces a slight nose-up rake when empty, which levels the truck under load. Running equal front and rear lift would produce a nose-down truck under payload.

Does this work with factory air suspension?
