Warranty & Performance Support
Last Updated: April 14, 2026
At Obsidian Forged Auto Supply, we do more than sell parts. We help customers choose the right components, verify fitment, and navigate manufacturer warranty support when something goes wrong.
Our catalog includes 2,500+ specialized SKUs across suspension, steering, lighting, wheels, recovery, electrical, and off-road performance categories. For eligible products, warranty coverage is provided by the original manufacturer and handled according to that manufacturerβs warranty policy.
Obsidian Forged Auto Supply assists customers with documentation, claim preparation, and communication with the manufacturer when a warranty issue needs review.
1. Manufacturer-Backed Warranty Coverage
Product warranties are issued and fulfilled by the original manufacturer, not Obsidian Forged Auto Supply.
Coverage varies by brand, product category, installation method, use case, and manufacturer policy. Depending on the product, warranty coverage may include protection against defects in:
| Coverage Area | Examples |
|---|---|
| Materials & workmanship | Manufacturing defects, structural issues, premature failure caused by a verified defect |
| Suspension & chassis components | Select lift kits, control arms, steering components, brackets, and hardware |
| Lighting & electronics | Select LED lighting, wiring, switches, control modules, and circuitry |
| Wheels & exterior finishes | Select coating, finish, or manufacturing defects depending on brand policy |
| Recovery & off-road hardware | Select mounts, recovery points, and structural components |
Coverage is not universal. Some parts may have limited coverage, conditional coverage, or no warranty depending on the manufacturerβs terms.
2. Common Warranty Exclusions
Most manufacturers do not cover failures caused by misuse, improper installation, vehicle modification conflicts, or normal wear.
Common exclusions include:
| Exclusion | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Improper installation | Parts installed incorrectly, incompletely, or outside manufacturer instructions |
| Incorrect fitment | Parts installed on an unsupported year, make, model, trim, drivetrain, cab, bed, or engine configuration |
| Abuse or impact damage | Off-road damage, collision damage, overloading, racing, jumping, or accident-related failure |
| Unauthorized modification | Cutting, welding, drilling, repainting, disassembling, or modifying the part outside manufacturer approval |
| Normal wear items | Bushings, ball joints, shock seals, bearings, joints, coatings, finishes, and other wear components unless a defect is confirmed |
| Labor or incidental costs | Installation labor, alignment, towing, rental vehicles, downtime, lost income, or secondary damage |
Warranty approval is determined by the manufacturer. Obsidian Forged Auto Supply can assist with the claim process, but we cannot guarantee claim approval.
3. Obsidian-Assisted Claim Process
If you believe a product has failed due to a manufacturer defect, contact us before removing, modifying, discarding, or replacing the part.
To start a warranty review, provide:
| Required Information | Details Needed |
|---|---|
| Order number | Your Obsidian Forged Auto Supply order number |
| Product details | Brand, part number, SKU, and product name if available |
| Vehicle information | Year, make, model, trim, drivetrain, engine, cab, bed, and suspension setup |
| Failure description | What happened, when it started, and how the vehicle was being used |
| Photos/videos | Clear images of the installed part, failure area, full vehicle stance, and any related damage |
| Install documentation | Professional installation invoice, alignment sheet, torque record, or receipts if available |
Once received, our team will review the documentation and help determine the next step.
The process generally follows this order:
| Step | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Documentation review | We review your order, product details, vehicle fitment, and submitted evidence |
| 2. Manufacturer submission | If the claim appears eligible, we submit the information to the manufacturer |
| 3. Manufacturer decision | The manufacturer reviews the claim and decides whether it is approved, denied, or needs more information |
| 4. Resolution | If approved, the manufacturer may offer a replacement, repair, credit, or other resolution according to its policy |
Do not ship any product back unless Obsidian Forged Auto Supply or the manufacturer provides written return instructions.
Unauthorized returns may be refused.
4. Professional Installation & Fitment Responsibility
Many suspension, steering, lighting, electrical, and performance parts require professional installation.
We strongly recommend installation by a qualified shop, especially for:
| Product Type | Why Professional Installation Matters |
|---|---|
| Suspension systems | Ride height, torque specs, geometry, alignment, and safety |
| Steering components | Drag links, tie rods, stabilizers, joints, and road safety |
| Lighting/electrical | Wiring, relays, fuses, switches, grounding, and circuit protection |
| Wheels/tires | Offset, backspacing, clearance, rubbing, brake fitment, and load rating |
| Recovery equipment | Mounting strength, frame attachment, and safe load use |
Keep all installation receipts, alignment sheets, and service records. Some manufacturers may require proof of professional installation before approving a warranty claim.
The customer is responsible for confirming that the product matches the vehicle, intended use, and installation requirements before purchase and installation.
5. Labor, Towing & Incidental Costs
Obsidian Forged Auto Supply facilitates warranty support but does not cover secondary costs unless specifically required by the manufacturerβs written warranty policy.
This includes, but is not limited to:
| Not Covered By Obsidian Forged Auto Supply |
|---|
| Labor |
| Diagnostics |
| Towing |
| Alignment |
| Storage fees |
| Rental vehicles |
| Lost income |
| Downtime |
| Reinstallation |
| Paint, coating, or refinishing |
| Secondary damage caused by part failure |
Manufacturer warranty coverage typically applies to the part itself, not the cost of removing, diagnosing, or reinstalling the product.

Final Warranty Note
