Description
The sPOD Ethernet Control Cable (SKU 910025) is the 3-foot short-routing cable that connects sPOD power modules to switch interfaces — compatible with BantamX, SourceLT, Mini6, and Mini4 systems. Use when components are close together but 1 foot is too tight to route cleanly without stressing the connector, and 10 feet creates unnecessary slack. Cable only — power module and switch panel not included.

sPOD Ethernet Cable Lineup — Choose Your Length
| SKU | Length | Best For | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 910010 | 1 foot | Truly co-located — components within 1 foot with straight connector exit | $7.00 |
| 910025 (this listing) | 3 feet | Short routing — components close together but requiring clean bend radius and minor routing path | $12.00 |
| 910000 | 10 feet | Standard in-cab routing — most under-dash and firewall-to-dash paths | $29.00 |
| 910005 | 15 feet | Extended routing — complex firewall runs, rear control interfaces | $35.00 |
| 910015 | 25 feet | Long-distance routing — full-size trucks, vans, overland rigs | $45.00 |
| 910020 | 30 feet | Maximum-reach routing — trailers, full-length van builds, extreme layouts | $59.95 |
The 3-foot cable fills the gap between the 1-foot co-located cable and the 10-foot standard cable. Choose it when straight-line component spacing is under 3 feet but the routing path, bend radius, or strain relief loop requires more than 1 foot.
When You Need This Cable
| Situation | Notes |
|---|---|
| Components are 1–2 feet apart but connector exits require a routing loop | 1-foot cable forces a tight bend — 3 feet allows a clean exit angle and strain relief loop |
| UTV or compact build with module and panel in adjacent mounting locations | Common in console or under-dash installs where components share the same general space |
| Custom enclosure where straight-line distance is short but routing path adds length | Measure the routed path, not the gap between components |
| Existing 3-foot cable is damaged | Direct replacement |
| 10-foot cable creates excess slack that cannot be managed cleanly | 3 feet eliminates bundling while providing enough reach for a proper install |
Critical Compatibility
| Configuration | Notes |
|---|---|
| sPOD BantamX — all variants | Compatible |
| sPOD SourceLT — all variants | Compatible |
| sPOD Mini6 interface | Compatible |
| sPOD Mini4 interface | Compatible |
| sPOD HD switch panel | Compatible |
| sPOD touchscreen | Compatible |
| Non-sPOD power management systems | Not confirmed — designed for the sPOD RJ45 CAT-6 controller interface |
| Routing path exceeding 3 feet | Order a longer cable — a strained 3-foot cable fails at the connector over time |
Common Questions
Why not just use the 1-foot cable if my components are close together? Straight-line distance between components is not the same as the routed cable path. A 1-foot cable between two components that are 10 inches apart works only if the connector exits both plugs at the right angle with no routing path required. Add any bend, loop, or minor routing detour and a 1-foot cable becomes too short — stressing the connector housing and causing intermittent signal loss over time. The 3-foot cable gives you enough slack for a clean exit angle, a small strain relief loop, and minor routing adjustments without excess slack.
Why not just use the 10-foot cable and bundle the extra? You can — but 7 feet of bundled cable in a tight UTV console, compact enclosure, or clean under-dash install is unnecessary bulk. The 3-foot cable keeps the install tight and professional without requiring cable management for excess slack.
Can I use a standard 3-foot CAT-6 patch cable? The RJ45 CAT-6 spec is standard but the sPOD cable uses reinforced, weather-resistant construction rated for vibration, temperature swing, and moisture in off-road environments. A commercial patch cable will fail prematurely under those conditions.
The Obsidian Take
The 910025 exists for one specific situation: your components are close together, the 1-foot cable is too tight to route cleanly, and the 10-foot cable creates more slack than the install warrants. Three feet gives you proper bend radius at both connectors, room for a strain relief loop, and a clean professional result without excess cable management.
If 1 foot genuinely covers your routed path with clean connector exits, order 910010 and save $5. If your routing path exceeds 3 feet, order 910000.
