Common Questions
Why not just use the 1-foot cable if my components are close together? Straight-line distance between components is not the same as the routed cable path. A 1-foot cable between two components that are 10 inches apart works only if the connector exits both plugs at the right angle with no routing path required. Add any bend, loop, or minor routing detour and a 1-foot cable becomes too short — stressing the connector housing and causing intermittent signal loss over time. The 3-foot cable gives you enough slack for a clean exit angle, a small strain relief loop, and minor routing adjustments without excess slack.
Why not just use the 10-foot cable and bundle the extra? You can — but 7 feet of bundled cable in a tight UTV console, compact enclosure, or clean under-dash install is unnecessary bulk. The 3-foot cable keeps the install tight and professional without requiring cable management for excess slack.
