Description
The sPOD BantamX Wireless Switch Controller (SKU 870120) is the vehicle-specific 8-circuit solid-state power management system for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited. All 8 circuits are controlled entirely through the sPOD app on your phone or tablet — no physical switch panel required in the cabin. The BantamX module mounts under the hood via the included Jeep-specific bracket. No wires cut, no factory circuits tapped, no cab penetration required. Expandable to 32 channels. Operates on 12V or 24V DC.
If you want a physical switch panel you can reach without your phone, order the BantamX HD (870020) instead.

Critical Compatibility — Does NOT Fit
FITMENT: Built for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited only. Do not substitute JL-specific sPOD harness kits — connector and pinout configurations are not interchangeable between JK and JL platforms. Questions? Text (469) 407-7538.
| Configuration | Reason |
|---|---|
| 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL — all engines | Incompatible chassis architecture and electrical integration. JK and JL harness connectors are not interchangeable. Order the JL-specific BantamX wireless (870118). |
| 2020–2026 Jeep Gladiator JT | Different platform. Order the JL/JT-specific BantamX wireless (870118). |
| 2003–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ | Different platform. Order the TJ/LJ-specific BantamX wireless (870124). |
| 1997–2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ | Different platform. No confirmed wireless BantamX SKU for pre-2003 TJ. |
| Jeep Wrangler YJ, CJ — all years | Not compatible. No vehicle-specific kit exists for these platforms. |
| Winches and high-draw recovery motors | 30A max per circuit. Winches draw 250–400A under load. Do not run a winch through any sPOD circuit. Wire winches direct to battery through a dedicated relay. |
| Any accessory requiring more than 30A per circuit | 30A hard ceiling per circuit. High-draw devices require direct battery wiring outside this system. |
Common Questions
There is no switch panel — how do I control accessories on trail? Through the sPOD app on your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. You can label each circuit, toggle accessories on and off, monitor circuit status, and program dimming, strobe, flash, and momentary functions entirely from the app. If you want physical buttons you can hit without pulling out your phone mid-obstacle, order the BantamX HD (870020) instead.
Does installation require cutting factory wires or tapping into the JK harness? No. The BantamX module connects directly to the battery via the included cable set and mounts under the hood via the Jeep-specific bracket. No factory circuits are tapped, no wires are cut, no cab penetration required.
Can I run a winch through this system? No. Each circuit is rated 30A maximum. Winches draw 250–400A under load — far beyond what any sPOD circuit can handle. Wire your winch direct to the battery through a dedicated relay and use the BantamX to control everything else. If you are running simultaneous high-draw loads across multiple circuits, text (469) 407-7538 before ordering to confirm your amperage allocation.
Can I expand beyond 8 circuits later? Yes. The BantamX has two RJ45 controller ports and is expandable to 32 channels via the sPOD BantamX add-on system. This is not a closed system.
What does installation actually take — time, tools, and skill level? Intermediate DIY level. No wire cutting, drilling, or crimping required. The Jeep-specific bracket eliminates guesswork on under-hood placement. Plan for 1.5–2 hours. Basic hand tools handle the battery terminal connections. Torque all terminal connections to manufacturer spec — loose connections under high-draw loads are the primary failure point in aftermarket power distribution installs. If you are not comfortable working at the battery terminals, have a qualified automotive electrician complete that step. Text (469) 407-7538 with pre-install questions.
The Obsidian Take
The BantamX Wireless (870120) is for the JK owner who wants to eliminate the relay bank, consolidate all accessory power into a single hub-centric module, and control every circuit from their phone — without a single toggle switch, rocker panel, or switch pod eating up dash real estate. Eight circuits. Clean interior. App-controlled from anywhere on the trail.
If physical switches are a priority, order the BantamX HD (870020). The wireless version and the HD version run the same module — the only difference is how you control it. Choose based on how you operate your build.
