Fitment, Shipping & Product Support
A compact, 8-circuit BantamX Touchscreen power management system engineered specifically for Jeep Wrangler JL V8 models. The vehicle-specific mounting bracket positions the BantamX under the hood without cutting, fishing wires, or tapping into the vehicle's electrical system. The 3.5-inch digital touchscreen pairs with the BantamX to deliver programmable, Bluetooth-enabled accessory control with overheating, over-current, short circuit, and reverse polarity protection built in.
Before ordering: This is a Built to Order product. Call for availability and lead time before placing your order. This kit uses a Jeep JL V8-specific mounting bracket — it is not a universal JL fitment. Confirm your Wrangler JL has the factory V8 engine before ordering. The factory 6.4L HEMI V8 was introduced in the Wrangler JL for the 2021 model year (Rubicon 392). Fitment for 2018–2020 model years requires verification with sPOD before ordering.
Required separately: Accessory devices and any additional circuits beyond the included 8-channel system. Additional BantamX modules required for expansion beyond 8 channels.

V8 fitment note: This kit is engineered for Jeep Wrangler JL V8 applications and uses a V8-specific mounting plate. The factory 6.4L HEMI V8 was introduced in the Wrangler JL with the 2021 Rubicon 392. If your Wrangler JL is a 2018–2020 model, confirm V8 engine compatibility with sPOD before ordering.

What Is and Is NOT Included
Included:
- BantamX System with PCM (powder-coated steel base, weatherproof silicone gasket)
- 3.5-inch digital touchscreen
- Jeep JL V8-specific mounting plate
- Battery cable set
- Ethernet cable
- All necessary hardware
Not included:
- Accessory wiring, relay, or fuse panels (not required for this system)
- Additional BantamX modules for channel expansion beyond 8 circuits (sold separately)
Critical Compatibility
- Fits Jeep Wrangler JL V8 applications, 2018–2024. Confirm V8 engine configuration before ordering — this kit uses a V8-specific mounting plate.
- The factory 6.4L HEMI V8 was not available in the Wrangler JL until 2021 (Rubicon 392). Fitment for 2018–2020 requires direct confirmation with sPOD.
- This is a Built to Order product — contact OFAS before ordering to confirm availability and lead time.
- Use only the included sPOD battery cables on the positive and negative terminal studs of the BantamX board. Attaching any other cable to these terminals voids the warranty.
- Connecting battery cables with reversed polarity voids the warranty.
- Do not connect an aftermarket brake controller, high-amp solenoid, or high-amp relay to the same positive battery post used by the BantamX system. Per manufacturer documentation, this causes irreversible damage and voids all warranties.
- Do not cut, splice, or otherwise modify the supplied wiring, connectors, or switches, and do not remove actuators without the manufacturer's specific actuator removal tool. Any such modification voids the warranty.
- Water, liquid, or chemical damage to any electrical component voids the warranty.
Installation Notes
Professional installation is strongly recommended. The BantamX mounts under the hood using the included Jeep JL V8-specific mounting plate — no cutting, wire-fishing, or tapping into the vehicle's electrical system is required.
Refer to the current sPOD/Baja Designs installation instructions for SKU 870045 for complete procedures, torque specifications, and all safety requirements. A color copy of the instructions is available at BajaDesigns.com under your vehicle-specific application.
The Obsidian Take
The 870045 is the touchscreen variant of sPOD's BantamX JL V8 kit — same under-hood V8-specific mount, same 8-circuit BantamX platform, same self-healing MOSFET fault protection as SKU 870030, with a 3.5-inch digital touchscreen in place of the HD physical switch panel. The touchscreen gives you direct on-screen access to all 8 circuits with full programmability through the display or the sPOD app. Buyers deciding between 870045 and 870030 are choosing between touchscreen interface and physical HD switch panel — everything else is identical. Built to Order with the same V8 fitment note as 870030: factory V8 in the JL started with the 2021 Rubicon 392; 2018–2020 fitment requires sPOD confirmation.
This Product Is For You If
- You own a Jeep Wrangler JL with a V8 engine, 2018–2024.
- You want an under-hood BantamX installation using the V8-specific mounting plate without cutting or wiring into the vehicle's electrical system.
- You prefer a 3.5-inch digital touchscreen interface over a physical switch panel.
- You need 8 independently controlled, 30-amp circuits with Bluetooth programming and On-Road/Off-Road modes.
- You want built-in LVCO, self-healing MOSFET fault protection, and reverse polarity protection.
- Your build uses 12 VDC or 24 VDC accessories.
This Product Is Not For You If
- Your Jeep Wrangler JL does not have a V8 engine.
- Your JL is a 2018–2020 model and you have not confirmed V8 compatibility with sPOD.
- You prefer a physical HD switch panel over a touchscreen — see SKU 870030.
- You plan to connect an aftermarket brake controller, high-amp solenoid, or high-amp relay to the same positive battery post as the BantamX.
- You plan to cut, splice, or modify the supplied wiring.
- You need more than 8 circuits immediately without adding additional BantamX modules.
