For a JL 4-door complete install: order BD-SS-301-JL4 (ships driver + passenger in 2 boxes) or order BD-SS-301-JL4D separately for the driver side. For a JT complete install: order BD-SS-301-JT4 (ships driver + passenger + rear extension in 3 boxes). This sub-part is for replacement or staged ordering only.

Why does the JL kit ship in 2 boxes while the JT kit ships in 3?
The Jeep Wrangler JL does not require a rear extension sub-part — the step slider spans the full door coverage area in two pieces (driver and passenger). The Gladiator JT has a longer wheelbase and requires a separate rear extension piece for rear door coverage, resulting in 3 boxes.

Does my model year matter this much?
Yes. RSE produces year-specific step slider kits because mounting geometry changes with each Jeep model year revision. The sub-parts are not cross-compatible between year ranges. One wrong year SKU on a non-returnable electrical product is a hard problem to solve.

Does this void the JL or JT factory warranty?
The standalone plug-and-play wire harness requires no splicing or modification to factory wiring. RSE states this design is intended to retain the manufacturer warranty. Verify with your dealer before installation.
