The flip-up sides hinge upward — when gear is mounted on the side panels, you can swing the panels up to access the full width of the bed from the side without removing anything. On a Gladiator that carries a mix of long and short trail gear, flip-up access means you can load and unload the bed efficiently without unmounting your side-mounted accessories. Fixed sides on the Basic rack do not move.

What is the Mopar Truck Bed Rail System and do I already have it?
Mopar Part #82215956 is a factory or dealer-installed accessory rail that runs along the top of the Gladiator bed walls. It is the mounting base this rack bolts to. Not all Gladiators come equipped with it. Check your bed for the rail system before ordering — if it is not present, order Mopar Part #82215956 separately before purchasing this rack.

Deluxe vs. Basic — which is right?
If you regularly access the bed from the sides while gear is mounted on the rack, the Deluxe flip-up sides are the correct choice. If lateral access is not a frequent requirement, the Basic (RK-100-JT1) covers the same function at lower cost. Both racks use identical 11-gauge steel construction and require Mopar Part #82215956.

Can I add accessories later?
Yes. Side rails (RK-103-JT1) add gear mounting near the rear quarter panels and are sold separately. The modular design supports expansion over time.
