Does this rack require any additional parts to install on a Tacoma?
No — unlike the Gladiator rack which requires the Mopar Truck Bed Rail System, the Tacoma rack bolts directly to the factory rail mounting system built into the 3rd gen Tacoma bed. No additional purchase required beyond the rack itself.

What is the difference between short bed and long bed? Do I need extensions?
The Toyota Tacoma is offered with a 5-foot short bed or a 6-foot long bed. This rack (RK-100-TAC3) fits the 5-foot short bed only. If your Tacoma has the 6-foot long bed, order the long bed extensions (RK-104-TAC3) separately. Check your bed length or your window sticker before ordering.

Can I still use my bed for cargo when the rack is installed?
Yes. The removable top cross members can be taken off when you need to transport taller items. The fixed sides remain in place. The rack is also compatible with rail mount roll-up tonneau covers for covered bed use while the rack is installed.

What add-on accessories are available for this rack?
Rock Slide Engineering offers side rails (RK-103-TAC3) for additional gear mounting near the rear quarter panels. The Deluxe rack (RK-200-TAC3) provides flip-up sides as an alternative to the fixed sides on this Basic kit.
