JL vs. JT — can I order either rail for either vehicle? No. The JL rail (SL-300-JL4) and JT rail (SL-300-JT4) use platform-specific mounting geometry. The JL and JT body mounting points differ — ordering the wrong SKU will result in a fitment mismatch. The JT rail is also 10 lbs heavier per pair at 85 lbs, reflecting the Gladiator's longer wheelbase and different body structure.

My JL has a 2-inch body lift. Will this still fit? Possibly not with factory-hole alignment. A body lift changes the relationship between the body mounting points and the frame, which can affect the mounting geometry of products designed for factory-hole installation. Can I add steps later without removing the rail? Yes. The SL-304-SP (4-inch) and SL-307-SP (7-inch) drop steps mount directly to the installed rail and can be added or removed independently. Install the rail and add steps when needed — no rail removal required.

Is this rail strong enough for Rubicon-level trail use? The Deluxe Rock Rail is rated for mild to moderate trail use. Sustained high-impact rock contact, extreme approach or departure angle crawling, and dedicated rock crawling applications may exceed the Deluxe series design parameters.
