Description
JKS J-Krawl 3" Lift Kit w/ Fox 3.0 IBP | 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-Door
Is This for You?
You're building a serious dedicated crawler on a JL 2-Door platform and you want the highest-spec Fox shock available in the J-Krawl lineup. The JSPEC148FRS delivers JKS J-Krawl crawler geometry with Fox 3.0 Internal Bypass (IBP) shocks — Fox's largest-body, highest-performance shock design. The 3.0" body diameter provides significantly more oil volume than the 2.5" series, and the internal bypass ports deliver progressive damping that transitions smoothly between low-speed crawling compliance and high-speed trail control. If you're building the ultimate JL 2-Door crawler, this is the shock.
The Result
3" of lift with JKS J-Krawl crawler geometry — engineered for maximum droop travel and articulation on technical terrain. Fox 3.0 IBP shocks deliver progressive damping through internal bypass ports: soft and compliant at low shaft velocities for maximum articulation on slow rock sections, progressively firmer at higher velocities for trail control. The 3.0" body's increased oil volume provides superior heat dissipation on sustained technical terrain. The JL 2-Door's shorter wheelbase and lighter platform make it the ideal platform for the 3.0 IBP's performance capabilities.

Installation & Fabrication Notes
Professional 4-wheel alignment required post-installation. Torque all control arm hardware to JKS specification after a 500-mile break-in. The Fox 3.0 IBP's larger body diameter requires clearance verification against skid plates, rock rails, and body panels before install — confirm clearance with OFAS before ordering. The J-Krawl system is designed for locker-equipped builds — confirm front and rear locker compatibility with OFAS before finalizing your build spec. No cutting or welding required for standard JL 2-Door gas applications.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Engineered for 37"+ tires on a dedicated crawler build. Recommended backspacing: 4.0"–4.5" on a 17"×9" or 17"×8" wheel. The JL 2-Door's shorter wheelbase makes fender clearance more sensitive to tire width at 3" of lift — confirm tread width and brand before finalizing wheel selection. Contact OFAS for 40" tire clearance confirmation.
Engineering Question
Running Fox 3.0 IBP shocks on a J-Krawl 3" JL 2-Door crawler build — how do the internal bypass ports' progressive damping characteristics interact with the J-Krawl's maximum-articulation geometry at slow crawler speeds versus faster trail transitions? The IBP's bypass ports are tuned to a specific shaft velocity threshold — below that threshold, the shock is in its soft, compliant bypass zone for maximum articulation compliance. Above that threshold, the main valving takes over for progressive damping control. On a J-Krawl build, this means the shock is in bypass mode for most slow rock crawling, which maximizes tire contact and articulation. As trail speed increases, the main valving progressively engages. Contact OFAS with your terrain profile and we'll confirm the IBP bypass tuning that's right for your specific JL 2-Door J-Krawl build.
