The JSPEC137KNS delivers the full J-Kontrol 2.5" standard-rate system with shock extension brackets, allowing you to retain and reuse your existing shock absorbers. Standard-rate coils maximize droop travel and trail compliance for stock-weight builds. This is the bring-your-own-shocks configuration of the J-Kontrol 2.5" standard-rate lineup.

Verify existing shock eye-to-eye length and body diameter compatibility with JKS extension brackets before install. Standard-rate coils allow more droop travel than HD coils — confirm your existing shock has sufficient extended length to avoid topping out at full droop. No cutting or welding required for standard JL 4-Door gas applications.

Wheel & Tire Fitment

Optimized for 35" tires on a stock-weight build. Recommended backspacing: 4.5"–4.75" on a 17"×9" or 18"×9" wheel. At 2.5" of lift, fender clearance with 35s is workable on a stock-weight rig — confirm tire brand and tread width before finalizing wheel selection.

Engineering Question

Carrying over factory JL Rubicon shocks or a set of Bilstein 5100s into this J-Kontrol 2.5" standard-rate build on a stock-weight JL 4-Door — will the extension brackets maintain correct droop travel at full articulation with standard-rate coils? Standard-rate coils allow more droop than HD coils, which means the shock needs a longer extended length to avoid topping out at full droop. A shock that works fine at stock ride height may run out of travel at 2.5" with std-rate springs.
