No cutting or welding required for standard JL 2-Door gas applications.

Wheel & Tire Fitment

Optimized for 35" tires on a stock-weight build. Recommended backspacing: 4.0"–4.5" on a 17"×9" or 17"×8" wheel. Standard-rate coils are not recommended for tire sizes exceeding 37" without load confirmation from OFAS. The JL 2-Door's shorter wheelbase makes fender clearance more sensitive to tire width at 3" of lift — confirm tread width and brand before finalizing wheel selection.

Running Fox 2.5 Elite DSC with standard-rate coils on a J-Kontrol 3" stock-weight JL 2-Door — how does the JL 2-Door's shorter wheelbase affect the useful DSC tuning range compared to a JL 4-Door running the same shock and coil rate at the same lift height? The JL 2-Door's shorter wheelbase produces faster chassis pitch cycles per trail obstacle, which means the DSC's high-speed circuit is more active per mile of trail than on the 4-Door.
