You already have quality shocks on your stock-weight JL 4-Door Unlimited and you want the J-Venture short-arm geometry upgrade at 2.5" of lift without replacing them. The JSPEC117KNS delivers the full J-Venture 2.5" standard-rate system with shock extension brackets, allowing you to retain and reuse your existing shock absorbers. Standard-rate coils maximize trail compliance for stock-weight builds. This is the bring-your-own-shocks configuration of the J-Venture 2.5" std-rate lineup.

The Result

2.5" of lift with JKS geometry-corrected short-arm control arms. Standard-rate coils deliver maximum droop travel and trail articulation for stock-weight builds. Shock extension brackets adapt your existing shocks to the new lift geometry without requiring replacement. No differential drop required. Adjustable control arms allow precise alignment post-install.

Installation & Fabrication Notes

Short-arm system does not require differential drop or relocation. Professional 4-wheel alignment required post-installation. Torque all control arm hardware to JKS specification after a 500-mile break-in. Verify existing shock eye-to-eye length and body diameter compatibility with JKS extension brackets before install. No cutting or welding required for standard JL 4-Door gas applications.

Wheel & Tire Fitment

Optimized for 35" tires on a stock-weight build. Recommended backspacing: 4.5"–4.75" on a 17"×9" or 18"×9" wheel. Standard-rate coils are not recommended for tire sizes exceeding 37" without load confirmation from OFAS.

Engineering Question

Reusing factory JL Rubicon shocks or a set of Bilstein 5100s on this J-Venture 2.5" std-rate short-arm build — will the extension brackets maintain correct droop travel at full articulation with standard-rate coils? Standard-rate coils allow more droop than HD coils, which means the shock needs a longer extended length to avoid topping out at full droop. A shock that works fine at stock ride height may run out of travel at 2.5" with std-rate springs.
