The spring is arched to deliver 4 inches of rear lift over the factory ride height without requiring a lift block, eliminating the axle wrap and wheel hop that a block-and-U-bolt rear lift introduces under acceleration. The higher leaf count allows each individual leaf to be thinner, reducing the stiffness contribution of each leaf and producing the progressive rate curve that a thick, low-leaf-count spring cannot achieve. Bolt-In Installation: The Deaver K97 is a direct bolt-in replacement for the OEM rear leaf spring assembly — no cutting, drilling, or welding required. Remove the factory spring pack and install the K97 at the same mounting points using the included center pin and retaining clips.
Pinion Angle: After installation, verify the rear differential pinion angle is within GM's specification for the installed front and rear lift height combination. A pinion angle shim may be required at 4 inches of rear lift depending on the front lift height installed.
Torque Specifications: Refer to the included instruction sheet for all center pin, U-bolt, and spring eye bolt torque values — torque with the suspension at ride height under load. Re-torque after the first 500 miles.
