Description
⚠️ Read Before Ordering — Narrow Application: This kit is only required if you are running both the Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit (PISK) and a steering stabilizer simultaneously. Cognito's recommendation is to remove the steering stabilizer when installing the PISK — the PISK eliminates the need for a stabilizer and provides superior steering system performance. This relocation kit exists only for customers who choose to run both. Additionally, the factory frame clevis mount required for a steering stabilizer is only present on 2011–2014 and some 2015 trucks — 2015–2019 trucks without the factory frame clevis cannot add a steering stabilizer and do not need this kit.
The Obsidian Vision
The 2011–2019 K2 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD/3500HD did not come from the factory with a steering stabilizer, but 2011–2014 and some 2015 trucks have the factory frame clevis provision — two tabs welded to the frame crossmember — that allows one to be added. When the Cognito PISK is installed, it occupies the space where the factory frame-mount end of the steering stabilizer sits, creating a clearance conflict. This relocation kit drops the frame mounting end of the stabilizer down to clear the Cognito PISK bracket, allowing both components to coexist. Fifteen-minute install, all required relocation hardware included, made in the USA.

Engineering Breakdown
- Relocates the OEM steering stabilizer frame mount downward to provide clearance for the Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit (PISK) bracket — the PISK occupies the space at the factory frame clevis position where the stabilizer's frame-mount end attaches, creating a direct conflict that prevents both components from being installed simultaneously without this relocation kit.
- Eliminates the clearance conflict between the Cognito PISK bracket and the steering stabilizer frame mount by dropping the stabilizer's frame-mount attachment point below the PISK bracket — allowing the stabilizer to remain in service alongside the PISK for customers who choose to run both, without modifying either the PISK or the stabilizer itself.
- Delivers a complete hardware solution — all required relocation hardware included — for a 15-minute installation at the factory frame clevis mount on 2011–2014 and applicable 2015 K2 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks equipped with both the Cognito PISK and an aftermarket steering stabilizer.
The factory frame clevis provision (two tabs welded to the frame crossmember on the left side of the truck) is the mounting point this kit relocates. This provision exists on 2011–2014 trucks and on some 2015 trucks — it is not present on all 2015 trucks and is not present on 2016–2019 trucks. If your truck does not have the factory frame clevis, a steering stabilizer cannot be added in the OEM location and this kit is not applicable. The steering center link mounting point (tapered hole on the right side of the center link near the idler arm) is present on all 2011–2019 trucks. Cognito's recommendation remains: remove the steering stabilizer when installing the PISK. The PISK eliminates the root cause of steering system compliance that a stabilizer only masks. At 0.5 lbs, this ships standard parcel.

❌ REQUIREMENTS & CRITICAL NOTICES:
⚠️ COGNITO PISK REQUIRED: This kit is only useful if the Cognito Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit (PISK) is installed. Without the PISK, there is no clearance conflict and this relocation kit is not needed.
⚠️ FACTORY FRAME CLEVIS REQUIRED — 2011–2014 AND SOME 2015 ONLY: The factory frame clevis mount (two tabs welded to the frame crossmember) is only present on 2011–2014 trucks and some 2015 trucks. It is not present on all 2015 trucks and is not present on 2016–2019 trucks. If your truck does not have the factory frame clevis, a steering stabilizer cannot be added in the OEM location and this kit does not apply.
⚠️ COGNITO RECOMMENDATION — REMOVE THE STABILIZER: Cognito recommends removing the steering stabilizer when installing the PISK. The PISK eliminates the root cause of steering system compliance that a stabilizer only masks, and provides superior steering performance without the stabilizer. This kit is for customers who choose to run both despite this recommendation.
⚠️ K2 GENERATION ONLY (2011–2019): Engineered for the K2 generation Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD only. Not applicable to the T1 generation (2020–2026).
Installation & Technical Notes
Estimated Install Time: 15-minute DIY install — with basic hand tools and a torque wrench.
Install Location: Frame clevis mount on the left side of the frame crossmember — the factory two-tab welded provision that the steering stabilizer's frame-mount end attaches to.
Verify Frame Clevis: Confirm the factory frame clevis is present on your specific truck before ordering. Inspect the left side of the frame crossmember for the two welded tabs. If not present, this kit is not applicable.
Torque Specifications: Torque all relocation hardware fasteners to Cognito's specification included with the kit.
Post-Install Check: After installation, verify the steering stabilizer and PISK bracket have full clearance through the complete steering travel range — lock to lock — before driving.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
This is a steering component relocation kit and does not affect suspension lift height, wheel offset requirements, or tire clearance. Wheel and tire fitment is determined by your installed lift kit configuration.
Our team is standing by to verify your frame clevis configuration and confirm whether this kit is the right solution for your PISK and stabilizer setup — or whether removing the stabilizer is the better path for your build. Purchase with confidence; we review every build.
