The double cardan (CV) joint design uses two u-joints in series with a centering socket between them, which cancels the velocity variation that a single u-joint produces at high operating angles. This cancellation eliminates the vibration and torque pulse that a single u-joint generates when operating at the angles produced by 4 or more inches of front lift — the engineering reason that a CV driveline is required for lifted 4WD operation, not optional. The 1330 series front differential yoke replacement is required because the 2024+ GM HD front differential uses an oversized industrial u-joint interface for which no weld yoke is currently available in the proper size for custom driveline tubing — the yoke swap to the 1330 series (OEM on 2019–2023) is the only available solution that allows a CV driveline to be installed on the 2024–2025 platform. Installation & Technical Notes

Estimated Install Time: Professional installation recommended — front differential yoke replacement requires differential fluid drain, yoke removal, seal inspection, new yoke installation with correct torque, fluid refill, and CV driveline installation and phasing verification.
Yoke Installation: Drain the front differential before removing the factory yoke. Inspect the differential output shaft seal before installing the 1330 series yoke — replace the seal if any wear or damage is present. Torque the yoke retaining nut to specification and verify the seal is properly seated before refilling the differential.
Differential Fluid: Refill the front differential to the correct fluid level with GM-specified differential fluid after yoke installation. Verify the fill plug is torqued to specification before operating in 4WD.
CV Driveline Phasing: Verify the CV driveline is correctly phased (slip yoke and front yoke in alignment) before final installation. Incorrect phasing will cause driveline vibration at all speeds.
