Installation & Technical Notes

Service Perch: These UCAs eliminate the need to cut the factory service perch off the truck when used as part of a Cognito lift package or as a stock replacement. Do not cut the service perch before installation.
Ball Joint Installation: The high-angle heavy-duty ball joints are pre-installed in the UCAs — no ball joint press required for installation. Verify the ball joint taper is fully seated in the knuckle before torquing the castle nut.
Crush Sleeves: Install the new crush sleeves included in the kit at the UCA pivot bushing locations — do not reuse the factory crush sleeves.
Alignment Required: Yes — professional front alignment is mandatory immediately after installation. The modified ball joint angle and UCA geometry affect caster and camber and must be verified and set to specification before driving.
