The 2.500" outer diameter and 2.125" inner diameter provide the correct press-fit bore for Clayton's GIIRO dual-durometer bushing — a maintenance-free, self-centering design rated for up to 30° of misalignment without binding. The 1.750" width matches the axle bracket ear spacing on JK/JL/JT front upper control arm mounts, ensuring full shoulder contact and eliminating lateral float under articulation load. Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Housing requires press-fit bushing installation — use a proper bushing press or C-clamp press tool. Do not hammer bushing in without a press.
- Verify axle bracket ear width matches 1.750" housing width before installation — shimming may be required on modified or aftermarket axle housings.
- Inspect housing bore for ovality or scoring before pressing in a new bushing — a worn or out-of-round bore will not retain the bushing under load.
- When installing a GIIRO bushing: ensure the dual-durometer outer layer seats fully flush with the housing shoulder on both faces before torquing the UCA bolt.
- Torque axle-side UCA bolt to your specific Clayton arm specification — verify with Clayton's torque spec sheet for your kit.
- On JL and JT models with ADAS: recalibrate front sensors after any suspension geometry change per Jeep service procedure.
