The Result

• 1/4" flat laser-cut steel skid plate with hardware included — bolts to Clayton's front 3-piece or 3-link cross member; rear mount welds into the unibody frame rails as part of the coil conversion kit installation.
• Requires drilling and tapping for the included hardware — this is a fabrication-involved install, not a pure bolt-on; plan accordingly.
• Compatible with both automatic and manual transmission side plates — specify your transmission type when sourcing side plates separately.

The COR-4101100 is Clayton Off Road's 1/4" flat transfer case skid plate for the XJ platform, designed specifically as an addition to Clayton's coil conversion lift kits. The front mounting point bolts to Clayton's front 3-piece cross member or front 3-link cross member using the included hardware — but installation requires drilling and tapping, so this is not a drop-in bolt-on. The rear mount is a welded component that is part of the coil conversion kit; if you don't have the coil conversion kit, you don't have the rear mount, and this skid plate cannot be installed. The kit includes the 1/4" flat skid and hardware only — cross members, side plates, and rear mounts are sold as part of the coil conversion system. Ships bare metal; coat before installation to prevent surface oxidation in undercarriage environments.

Installation & Fabrication Notes

• Front mount: Bolts to Clayton's front 3-piece cross member or front 3-link cross member using included hardware. Drilling and tapping required — do not attempt installation without appropriate drill/tap tooling.
• Rear mount: Custom rear mount must be welded into the unibody frame rails. This mount is included in Clayton's coil conversion kit — it is not sold separately with this skid plate.
• Confirm you have the correct side plates for your transmission type (auto or manual) before beginning installation — side plates are sold separately.
• Verify exhaust routing clears the skid plate before final installation — some aftermarket exhaust configurations may conflict.
• Bare metal finish: Apply primer and topcoat before installation. Surface rust or cosmetic marks from shipping are expected and do not affect structural performance. Contact OFAS for freight/pallet shipping if cosmetic condition is a priority.

Wheel & Tire Fitment

No direct wheel or tire fitment restriction for this skid plate. Verify that your lift height and tire size do not create undercarriage clearance conflicts with the skid plate profile. Consult Clayton Off Road fitment documentation for your specific XJ coil conversion configuration.

Engineering Question: Do you have Clayton Off Road's front 3-piece cross member (or 3-link cross member) and the coil conversion rear skid plate mount already welded into your XJ unibody? This skid plate cannot be installed without both mounting points in place. Also confirm your transmission type (auto or manual) for correct side plate selection before ordering.
