The COR-2300201 is Clayton Off Road's Standard CNC-machined tube insert for 1.5" .156 wall DOM round tubing, threaded 1"x14 right-hand. This is the Standard tier in Clayton's tube insert lineup — machined from Grade 8 Hi-nuts for structural thread strength, CNC-machined for a precise press fit into the DOM tube ID. Left-hand thread is not available in this Standard DOM series — RH only. If you need LH thread in 1"x14, the Premium series offers both LH (COR-2300222) and RH (COR-2300212) in 1.5"x1.5" 1/8" wall square tubing. Note that the Premium series is for square tubing and this Standard insert is for round DOM tubing — the tube geometry is different and the inserts are not interchangeable. The CNC machining ensures a precise press fit into the DOM tube ID. Press in with a hydraulic ram or 5 lb sledge, verify square, then fully weld.

Installation & Fabrication Notes

• Confirm tube type and wall thickness before pressing — this insert is machined for 1.5" .156 wall DOM round tubing specifically. It will not fit square tubing of the same nominal size.
• Press insert into tube using a hydraulic ram or 5 lb sledge hammer — drive evenly to avoid cocking the insert during installation.
• Verify the insert is square to the tube axis before welding — use a square or straight edge to confirm alignment. A cocked insert will cause thread misalignment and binding at the rod end under load.
• Fully weld the insert to the tube after confirming square — do not rely on press fit alone for structural use.
• Allow weld to cool fully before threading in rod end or adjuster — heat distortion can affect thread engagement.
