The frame-side CE-9114N Johnny Joint uses a 1.25"-12 RH forged rod end with a 2.5" narrow profile, keeping the joint tight to the frame rail and reducing the moment arm under load. The axle-side GIIRO bushing uses a dual-durometer rubber compound: a softer outer layer absorbs road vibration and NVH, while a stiffer inner core resists deflection under lateral load. The self-centering geometry allows 30° of misalignment without binding — critical on lifted Wranglers where axle wrap and droop angles exceed OEM design parameters. Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Bolt-in installation — no cutting, welding, or frame modification required.
- Use 9/16"-18 hardware supplied in kit for the Johnny Joint frame-side mount.
- Torque frame-side Johnny Joint bolt to OEM specification for your model year (JK: 130 ft-lbs; JL: verify with Clayton torque spec sheet).
- Rear alignment (toe and thrust angle) must be checked and corrected after installation — axle centering is the primary function of this arm on lifted JLs.
- On JL models with ADAS (forward collision, lane assist): recalibrate cameras and sensors after any suspension geometry change per Jeep service procedure.
- Grease the CE-9114N Johnny Joint at the zerk fitting before first use and at regular service intervals.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard JK/JL wheel and tire combinations running up to 37" tires on 0"–6" lift. Larger tire fitment (38"–40"+) may require additional suspension components — verify with your builder. No load range restriction imposed by this arm set.
Engineering Question: Are you running a JL with factory ADAS (automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning)? If yes, plan for sensor recalibration after installation — suspension geometry changes affect camera and radar alignment.
