Description
Is This for You?
- You're converting your WJ Grand Cherokee to a long-arm 4-link rear suspension and need weld-in frame-side anchor points engineered to eliminate the factory rear trackbar.
- You want laser-cut, 1/4" steel brackets built to Clayton Off Road's 4-link geometry — no fitment guesswork, no modification required.
- You're a fabricator or experienced builder ready to weld on a unibody platform and want bare-metal components ready for your own finish.
The Result
- Eliminates the rear trackbar for true 4-link geometry — improved axle articulation, reduced bind, and consistent rear axle tracking under load.
- Laser-cut and CNC-bent from 1/4" steel plate for precise frame interface and repeatable weld prep on the WJ unibody.
- Sold as a pair (driver + passenger), shipped bare metal — ready for prep, prime, and weld.
The WJ Grand Cherokee's factory rear suspension uses a trackbar (Panhard rod) to control lateral axle movement — a geometry compromise that introduces axle shift under articulation and limits suspension travel. The Clayton Off Road WJ rear frame brackets replace the factory trackbar mount with dedicated 4-link anchor points, allowing the rear axle to cycle in a true arc without lateral deviation. Laser-cut from 1/4" steel and CNC-bent for precise fitment against the WJ unibody structure, these brackets are engineered to interface directly with the Clayton Off Road WJ 4-link system. Welding is required — these are raw fabrication components, not bolt-on hardware. Bare metal finish allows you to apply your own primer, powder coat, or chassis paint before installation.

Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Welding is required. MIG or TIG with ER70S-6 filler recommended for unibody steel.
- Clean, degrease, and remove all undercoating and seam sealer from weld contact surfaces before fitment.
- Use Clayton Off Road location templates (if available) to position brackets before tacking.
- Tack weld, verify bracket position and axle alignment, then run final weld passes.
- After installation, perform a full rear alignment check — set caster and pinion angle per your lift height and driveline spec.
- Apply primer and chassis paint or powder coat immediately after welding to protect bare metal surfaces.

Wheel & Tire Fitment
These are suspension frame components and do not directly dictate wheel or tire sizing. Consult your Clayton Off Road WJ 4-link kit documentation for lift height and tire clearance recommendations. Typical WJ long-arm builds run 33"–35" tires depending on fender clearance and lift configuration.
Engineering Question: Are you running the complete Clayton Off Road WJ 4-link rear system including the unibody frame rails and front crossmember? These rear brackets are engineered as part of that full system — confirm your complete part list before ordering to ensure all mounting geometry aligns.
