Description
Is This for You?
- You're building a long-arm 4-link rear suspension on your LJ and need a clean, weld-in frame-side anchor point that eliminates the factory track bar.
- You want laser-cut, 1/4" steel brackets that fit the Clayton Off Road 4-link geometry without modification.
- You're a fabricator or experienced builder comfortable with MIG/TIG welding and want bare-metal parts ready for your own finish.
The Result
- Eliminates the rear track bar for a true 4-link geometry with improved axle articulation and reduced bind.
- Laser-cut and CNC-bent from 1/4" steel plate for precise fit and repeatable weld prep.
- Sold as a pair — both driver and passenger frame brackets included, shipped bare metal ready for prep and weld.
The Clayton Off Road LJ rear frame brackets are engineered specifically for the extended wheelbase Wrangler Unlimited platform, where factory frame geometry differs from the standard TJ. By replacing the OEM track bar mount with a dedicated 4-link bracket, you eliminate lateral axle movement caused by the Panhard bar and allow the rear axle to cycle in a true arc. The 1/4" laser-cut steel construction ensures the bracket interfaces flush with the frame rail, minimizing weld gap and maximizing joint strength. Welding is required — these are raw fabrication components, not bolt-on hardware. Bare metal finish allows you to apply your own primer, powder coat, or chassis paint to match your build spec.

✅ Fits:
- 2004–2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) — all trims
- 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (LJ)
❌ Does NOT Fit:
- 2003–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ (standard wheelbase) — different frame geometry
- 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK / JKU — incompatible frame rail
- 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL / JLU — incompatible frame rail
- Any application not using the Clayton Off Road 4-link rear suspension system
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Welding is required. MIG or TIG recommended with ER70S-6 wire or equivalent filler.
- Clean and degrease frame rail contact surface before fitment. Remove any undercoating in the weld zone.
- Tack in place and verify axle alignment before final weld passes.
- After installation, perform a full rear alignment check — caster and pinion angle will need to be set per your lift height and driveline angle.
- Torque specs for 4-link bar ends per Clayton Off Road instructions included with the full kit.
- Apply primer or chassis paint immediately after welding to prevent rust on bare metal surfaces.

Wheel & Tire Fitment
These brackets are suspension/frame components and do not directly dictate wheel or tire sizing. Consult your Clayton Off Road 4-link kit documentation for recommended tire clearance and lift height combinations for the LJ platform. Typical LJ 4-link builds run 35"–37" tires depending on fender modification and lift height.
Engineering Question: Are you running the full Clayton Off Road rear 4-link kit, or sourcing these brackets to integrate with a custom link setup? Bar length, mounting angle, and pinion angle targets will vary — confirm your build spec before ordering to ensure bracket geometry aligns with your link dimensions.
