Critical Compatibility

The 4.5" lift on a 2-door JK demands careful tire and clearance planning. At approximately 5.5" of actual net lift on a 2-door, you are at the upper boundary of what a short arm kit will manage cleanly without fender trimming and additional geometry correction. Know your net lift, know your wheel offset, and verify fender clearance at full articulation before ordering tires.

At 4.5", the front CV driveshaft argument is stronger than at 3.5". At this height, stock driveshaft vibration and u-joint wear become more pronounced. Budget for the front CV driveshaft as part of this build.

2012–2018 exhaust spacer is a hard requirement. The exhaust routing change that affected 2012+ JKs applies at 4.5" the same as at 3.5". Spacer is required — available in related items.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced — 8 adjustable arms requiring post-installation alignment across all four corners. Professional alignment strongly recommended.

Before beginning:

• Shocks sourced and on hand
• Front CV-style driveshaft sourced (highly recommended)
• Exhaust spacer on hand if 2012–2018
• Alignment shop appointment scheduled
• 2-door net lift (~5.5") factored into tire/fender clearance plan

Installation sequence:

1. Install coil springs — front and rear
2. Install all 8 control arms — initial length at factory spec, fine-tuned during alignment
3. Install adjustable front and rear track bars — center axles
4. Install adjustable sway bar links
5. Install bump stops
6. Connect brake line extensions
7. Install shocks
8. Install front CV-style driveshaft if sourced
9. Install exhaust spacer if 2012–2018
10. Full 4-wheel alignment — lifted JK experience required
11. Re-torque all fasteners after 100–200 miles break-in

Common Questions

What's the difference between this and the 3.5" Overland+ (COR-3008035)?
Lift height and spring rate. COR-3008045 uses 4.5" springs targeting 37" tires; COR-3008035 uses 3.5" springs targeting 35–36" tires. The 2-door net lift at 4.5" is approximately 5.5" vs. approximately 4.5" on the 3.5" kit. All other components are identical.

My 2-door JK will net approximately 5.5" — is that too much for a short arm kit?
It's at the upper limit. At approximately 5.5", you're approaching the point where a long arm system is more appropriate for full geometry correction. The Overland+ will work — but verify fender clearance with your specific tire and offset before committing.

Is the front CV driveshaft required or just recommended?
Clayton says "highly recommended." Practically, at 4.5" the driveshaft angle is significant enough that running stock will generate vibration and accelerate u-joint wear. Budget for it.

Are shocks included?
No. Bilstein 5100, Fox 2.0, Fox 2.5, and Falcon SP2 3.1 are commonly paired with this kit.

Does the 2012–2018 exhaust spacer apply at 4.5" too?

The COR-3008045 is the maximum short arm lift height in the JK Overland+ lineup. At 4.5" and 37" tire fitment, you're running a truck. The geometry at this height demands every bit of the 8-arm adjustability the Overland+ provides — caster correction, pinion angle, and axle centering all matter for daily-driven performance at this height.

The GIIRO joint selection delivers on both road and trail without maintenance. The comparison to a long arm kit is worth acknowledging: the Overland+ at 4.5" is the maximum of a short arm configuration. If you're at 4.5" on a JK and planning for 37"+ tires with frequent technical trail use, the long arm conversation is worth having before committing.

This SKU is for: 2007–2018 JK owners (2-door and 4-door) targeting 4.5" of lift and up to 37" tires, wanting full 8-arm geometry adjustability, who have sourced or planned for a front CV driveshaft, shocks, and (if 2012–2018) the exhaust spacer.

This SKU is NOT for: JL Wrangler owners (different platform), JT Gladiator owners (different platform), 2-door JK owners who haven't accounted for approximately 5.5" of actual net lift, anyone who hasn't sourced shocks before installation, or JK owners who are at this lift height and tire size and would be better served by a long arm system.
