Fitment, Shipping & Product Support
The Clayton Off Road Heavy Duty Drag Link Bar (COR-5206911) is a bolt-in drag link replacement for the 1999β2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ, machined from 1-3/8" solid 7075-T651 aluminum. Drilled and tapped to the OE WJ 24mm-1.5 metric thread pitch for direct compatibility with factory end links and the factory pitman arm. Left-hand/right-hand thread configuration allows drag link length adjustment by rotating the bar body β the same adjustment method as the factory drag link, no end link removal required. Installation is 100% bolt-in: unbolt the factory stamped steel drag link, bolt this one in its place. No knuckle drilling, pitman arm modification, or frame work required. 7075-T651 alloy delivers strength comparable to many steels with good fatigue resistance, resisting the bending and flex that deforms the factory steel drag link under trail load and high-steer inputs. Made in the USA.
Pairs with the companion 7075 aluminum tie rod bar (COR-5206921) for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in WJ steering upgrade. A factory-stabilizer-compatible or Fox/Bilstein-upgradeable stabilizer mount is also available for the tie rod side of the system.

Critical Compatibility
| Configuration | Notes |
|---|---|
| Worn or damaged OE end links | Replace before installing β this bar is drilled and tapped for end links, not sold with new ones |
| Factory stabilizer | Compatible for reuse β or upgrade to a Fox/Bilstein stabilizer with the separate mount upgrade |
| Factory stamped steel tie rod left in place | Leaves the weakest link in the steering system unchanged β pair with COR-5206921 for a complete upgrade |
| Thread engagement depth | Verify minimum thread engagement specification is met before final installation |
Common Questions
Is this a complete bolt-in replacement?
Yes. Remove the factory drag link, thread your existing (or new) OE-style end links onto this bar at the correct 24mm-1.5 thread engagement, and bolt it in using the factory pitman arm and knuckle mounting points. No drilling, welding, or fabrication required.
How do I adjust drag link length?
Rotate the bar body. The left-hand/right-hand thread configuration changes the effective length without requiring you to remove the end links β the same method as the factory drag link.
Should I upgrade the tie rod at the same time?
Yes, if your tie rod is still factory stamped steel. Upgrading the drag link alone leaves the tie rod as the weakest remaining link in the steering system. Pair with COR-5206921 for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in upgrade.
Can I reuse my factory steering stabilizer?
Yes β or upgrade to a Fox or Bilstein stabilizer using the separate stabilizer mount upgrade available for the tie rod side of the system.
The Obsidian Take
The COR-5206911 is for the WJ owner replacing a bent or worn factory drag link who wants a genuine bolt-in upgrade rather than a fabrication project. 1-3/8" solid 7075-T651 aluminum, drilled and tapped to the exact OE 24mm-1.5 metric thread, left-hand/right-hand adjustment that mirrors the factory method. No knuckle drilling, no pitman arm work, no frame modification.
The honest recommendation: don't stop at the drag link. If your tie rod is still factory steel, it remains the weakest point in the system β pair this with COR-5206921 for a complete steering upgrade in one session.
