Description
Is This for You?
- You're running 4–6" of lift on your 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or LJ and your drag link angle is steep enough to introduce bump steer or binding through the steering range. A drop pitman arm lowers the drag link attachment point to restore correct steering geometry at lift height.
- You want a direct-fit solution that works with your OEM or aftermarket steering box without modification. This is a bolt-on replacement — exact fit on your existing steering box output shaft, no adapters or fabrication required.
- You want forged, zinc-plated hardware that holds up in undercarriage environments. Forged construction over cast, gold zinc plating for corrosion resistance — built for the conditions a lifted TJ or LJ sees on and off the trail.
The Result
- Forged drop pitman arm — forged construction provides superior strength over cast alternatives; designed to minimize steering drag link angle on TJ and LJ platforms running 4–6" of lift.
- Gold zinc plating for corrosion resistance — protects the arm in undercarriage environments exposed to water, mud, and road salt.
- Exact fit on OEM and aftermarket steering boxes — direct bolt-on to your existing steering box output shaft; no modification required.
The COR-2400100 is Clayton Off Road's forged drop pitman arm for the Jeep Wrangler TJ (1997–2003) and LJ Unlimited (2004–2006) platforms, intended for 4–6" of lift. At this lift range, the factory pitman arm creates a downward angle on the drag link that introduces bump steer — the steering pulls or wanders as the suspension cycles through its travel. A drop pitman arm lowers the drag link attachment point to reduce that angle and restore proper steering geometry. The engineering goal is to keep the drag link and front track bar as close to parallel as possible — when both are parallel, bump steer is minimized and the steering behaves predictably through suspension travel. At 2 lbs and $79, this is one of the most cost-effective geometry corrections available for a lifted TJ or LJ build.

Does NOT Fit:
- ❌ 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK — different steering box and pitman arm geometry; see JK-specific pitman arm
- ❌ 2019–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL — different steering system (electric power steering)
- ❌ 1984–2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ / 1993–1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ — different geometry; see COR-2400200 (intended for 6–8" lift)
- ❌ Lifts under 4" or over 6" — this arm is engineered for the 4–6" lift window; outside that range, geometry correction may be insufficient or excessive
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Remove factory pitman arm using a pitman arm puller — do not use a hammer or pry bar on the steering box output shaft.
- Install COR-2400100 on the steering box output shaft and torque to OEM specification for your TJ/LJ steering box.
- After installation, verify that the drag link and front track bar are as close to parallel as possible when viewed from the side — adjust track bar length if needed to achieve parallel geometry.
- Full steering alignment check recommended after installation — verify bump steer is eliminated through the full suspension travel range before returning to trail use.

Wheel & Tire Fitment
No direct wheel or tire fitment restriction for this pitman arm. Intended for TJ and LJ builds running 4–6" of lift — verify your specific tire and wheel combination clears the drag link at full steering lock after installation.
Engineering Question: What is your current lift height on your TJ or LJ? This pitman arm is engineered for the 4–6" lift window — confirm your lift height falls within that range before ordering. Also confirm whether you are running an OEM or aftermarket steering box, as output shaft spline count can vary on some aftermarket units.
