Verified Fitment

This bracket fits the Jeep Wrangler JK, JL, and Gladiator JT — but installation requirements differ significantly by platform. Read the platform split carefully before ordering.

Year Range Make Model Configuration Tie Rod Drill Required Additional Part Required
2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2-Door and 4-Door Factory No None — factory tie rod mount reused
2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-Door Factory Yes — one 3/8" hole COR-5200940 tie rod mount
2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited 4-Door Factory Yes — one 3/8" hole COR-5200940 tie rod mount
2020–2026 Jeep Gladiator JT All configurations Factory Yes — one 3/8" hole COR-5200940 tie rod mount

JL/JT buyers: If you want the complete packaged solution without ordering COR-5200940 separately, order COR-5209011 instead — it includes this bracket plus the COR-5200940 tie rod mount.

This is an axle bracket only — no tie rod mount is included. No steering stabilizer is included.

Does NOT Fit

Exclusion Reason
Jeep Wrangler TJ / LJ (1997–2006) Different front axle stabilizer mount geometry — not applicable
Jeep Wrangler YJ / CJ Different front axle design — not applicable
JL/JT without also ordering COR-5200940 This bracket does not include a tie rod mount. JL/JT installation is incomplete without COR-5200940. If you need both, order COR-5209011 (the complete kit).
Vehicles with aftermarket tie rods The factory tie rod mount (JK reuse) and COR-5200940 (JL/JT) are both designed for the factory tie rod diameter. Aftermarket tie rods require a separate, diameter-specific tie rod bracket.
Buyers expecting a steering stabilizer to be included This is a relocation bracket only. Your existing stabilizer mounts to this bracket.

Item Notes
Tie rod stabilizer mount Not included in this SKU. JK owners reuse the factory tie rod mount — no additional part needed. JL/JT owners must order COR-5200940 separately, or order COR-5209011 for the complete kit that includes it.
Steering stabilizer This bracket relocates your existing factory or aftermarket stabilizer. Confirm your stabilizer's axle-end eye diameter and pin size are compatible with the double-shear mount.
Drill and 3/8" drill bit JL/JT installation only — one 3/8" hole must be drilled in the factory axle bracket. Tools not included.
Professional installation labor Not included.

Critical Compatibility

Condition Interaction Action Required
JL/JT tie rod mount — not included This is the most common ordering error on this SKU. JL/JT owners who order COR-5209010 without also ordering COR-5200940 will receive an axle bracket with no way to mount the tie rod end of the stabilizer. JL/JT owners: add COR-5200940 to your order, or order COR-5209011 for the complete packaged kit.
JK factory tie rod mount reuse On the JK, the factory tie rod stabilizer mount is simply repositioned above the tie rod — unbolt the stabilizer, install this axle bracket, loosen and rotate the factory tie rod mount above the tie rod, tighten, reinstall. No drilling, no additional parts. JK installation only. Confirm factory tie rod mount is in good condition before repositioning.
Aftermarket tie rod Both the JK factory reuse approach and the COR-5200940 tie rod mount are designed for the factory tie rod. Aftermarket tie rods require a separately sourced bracket compatible with the aftermarket tie rod's diameter. Confirm factory tie rod is installed before ordering.
Stabilizer eye diameter and pin size Clayton states compatibility with factory and most aftermarket stabilizers, but eye diameter and pin size at the axle end must be compatible with the double-shear mount. Verify your stabilizer's axle-end dimensions match the double-shear mount before installation.
Track bar bolt replacement The included Grade 8 flanged track bar bolt and top-lock nut replace the OEM track bar bolt at the axle end. The top-lock nut will not thread to final position by hand — start by hand to confirm thread engagement, then torque to 146 ft-lbs. Install with a calibrated torque wrench — do not substitute OEM bolt.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Beginner to intermediate.

JK Installation (no drilling required):

  1. Unbolt the factory steering stabilizer from the axle-end mount.
  2. Install this double-shear axle bracket onto the factory axle bracket using included Grade 8 hardware.
  3. Loosen the factory tie rod stabilizer mount, rotate it above the tie rod, and retighten.
  4. Reinstall the stabilizer into the raised double-shear axle bracket and repositioned tie rod mount.
  5. Install the included Grade 8 flanged track bar bolt and top-lock nut — start by hand, torque to 146 ft-lbs.
  6. Verify track bar bolt head is accessible after bracket installation.

JL/JT Installation (one drill hole required):

  1. Drill one 3/8" hole in the factory axle bracket at Clayton's specified location.
  2. Clean the factory bracket contact surface — remove dirt, rust, and undercoating.
  3. Install this double-shear axle bracket using included Grade 8 hardware.
  4. Install COR-5200940 tie rod mount on the factory tie rod.
  5. Reinstall the stabilizer.
  6. Install the included Grade 8 flanged track bar bolt and top-lock nut — torque to 146 ft-lbs.
  7. Verify track bar bolt head is accessible.

Common Questions

I have a JL. Should I order this or COR-5209011?
If you haven't already purchased a separate COR-5200940 tie rod mount, order COR-5209011 — it is the complete JL/JT packaged kit that includes this bracket plus COR-5200940. Ordering COR-5209010 alone for a JL gives you only the axle bracket — you won't be able to mount the tie rod end of your stabilizer without COR-5200940.

I have a JK. Is this literally bolt-on?
Yes — true bolt-on for the JK. Install the axle bracket, reposition the factory tie rod mount above the tie rod, reinstall the stabilizer. No drilling, no additional parts required. The factory tie rod mount on the JK is designed to be repositioned without replacement.

Does this work on the JK 2-door and 4-door equally?
Yes — the COR-5209010 fits both the 2-door JK and the 4-door JK Unlimited (2007–2018) with the same installation process.

My JK has an aftermarket tie rod. Can I still use this?
The axle bracket installs the same way regardless of tie rod. The JK factory tie rod repositioning step, however, only works for the factory JK tie rod. If you have an aftermarket tie rod, you need a separate tie rod bracket compatible with your specific aftermarket tie rod's diameter — the factory reuse approach will not work. Text (469) 407-7538 for help identifying the correct tie rod bracket for your build.

Why does this keep the track bar bolt accessible?
Clayton dimensioned the bracket specifically to clear the track bar bolt head. On any lifted Jeep, the track bar bolt at the axle end should be inspected and retorqued periodically — if your stabilizer bracket covers the bolt head, you have to remove the bracket every time. This bracket is designed so you don't have to.

Does this include a steering stabilizer?
No — this is an axle-side relocation bracket only. Your existing factory or aftermarket stabilizer mounts to this bracket.

The Obsidian Take

This bracket is for the JK, JL, or JT owner who wants the raised double-shear stabilizer position without paying for components they don't need. JK owners get a no-drill, no-extra-parts bolt-on install that repositions the factory tie rod mount above the tie rod in under an hour. JL/JT owners who already have COR-5200940, or who are sourcing their own tie rod bracket for an aftermarket tie rod, get exactly what they need — the axle bracket — without the bundled parts they already have.

It is not the right order for a JL or JT owner starting from scratch without COR-5200940 — that buyer should order COR-5209011 instead and get both pieces in one transaction. It is not for the TJ or LJ owner — the front axle geometry on those platforms is different. And it is not for any truck running an aftermarket tie rod without a plan for the tie rod mount — the factory reuse approach and COR-5200940 are both factory-tie-rod-specific.

The JK's no-drill installation is the reason this SKU exists separately from COR-5209011. For JK owners, paying for a tie rod mount they don't need makes no sense — this bracket is the correct buy.
