Verified Fitment
This kit fits the 1997 through 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ (2-Door) and the 2004 through 2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited (4-Door) at 4" to 8" of front lift. No welding required. This is the standard front long arm kit — for the Pro Series 3-link front upgrade, see COR-4805013. For the matching rear long arm kit, see COR-4805003.
Note on LJ-specific equivalent: COR-4807002 is the LJ Unlimited-designated front long arm kit with identical specifications. If your vehicle is a 1997–2003 TJ (2-door), COR-4805002 is the correct SKU — COR-4807002 does not cover the TJ.

What Is and Is NOT Included
Included:
| Component |
|---|
| Front frame brackets |
| Upper adjustable control arms (pair) with Currie Johnny Joint frame ends and GIIRO axle-end bushings |
| Lower adjustable control arms (pair) with Currie Johnny Joint frame ends and GIIRO axle-end bushings |

Not Included:
| Item | Notes |
|---|---|
| Front axle truss | Not included with this kit — unlike the rear long arm kits, the front standard long arm does not include a front axle truss. If front axle tube reinforcement is needed for your build, source separately. |
| COR-4805013 or COR-4805015 (3-link upgrade) | If 3-link front geometry is the eventual goal, source these separately — see Field 6 for the correct upgrade sequence. |
| Professional installation labor | Qualified shop with TJ/LJ long arm experience recommended. Not included. |
Critical Compatibility
| Condition | Interaction | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| 3-link upgrade path — order sequence matters | If 3-link front geometry is the eventual goal, the order in which these kits are purchased affects which SKU is correct. Starting fresh and wanting 3-link immediately: order COR-4805013 (complete front 3-link kit — includes lower arms, upper mount brackets, and upper 3-link arm). Already have this kit installed and want to add 3-link: order COR-4805015 (upper arm conversion add-on). Do not order COR-4805013 after installing COR-4805002 — that would duplicate the lower arms and frame brackets already installed. | Confirm build sequence before ordering. Text (469) 407-7538 if unsure of the correct upgrade path. |
| Front driveshaft operating angles | The longer arm geometry changes front caster angle at lift height. Verify front driveshaft U-joint operating angles after installation — in most configurations the adjustable arms allow caster correction within acceptable driveshaft angles. | Check front driveshaft angle after setting caster. Correct if operating angles are outside acceptable range. |
| Front alignment — mandatory | A long arm front conversion changes caster, camber, and toe simultaneously. Full front alignment is mandatory before highway driving after installation. | Schedule alignment immediately after installation. |
| Lift height minimum — 4" | Below 4", factory short arm front geometry functions within acceptable parameters. | Confirm front lift height is 4" or greater before ordering. |
| LJ vs. TJ front frame | COR-4805002 covers both TJ and LJ at the factory front control arm frame mount locations. Confirm your vehicle is a TJ (1997–2006) or LJ Unlimited (2004–2006) — not a JK or JL — before ordering. | Vehicle identity confirmation required. |
Installation Notes
Skill level: Intermediate to advanced. No welding required — bolt-on front long arm replacement. A qualified shop with TJ/LJ front suspension experience is recommended for correct geometry setting and mandatory post-install alignment.
Step 1 — Frame bracket installation:
- Install the front frame brackets in the factory front control arm frame mount locations per Clayton's installation instructions.
Step 2 — Control arm installation:
- Install the upper and lower adjustable control arms at initial length per Clayton's geometry specifications for your lift height.
Step 3 — Geometry setting:
- Set caster and pinion angle with the vehicle at static ride height.
- Torque all control arm hardware at ride height — not at full droop or compression.
Step 4 — Driveshaft and alignment:
- Verify front driveshaft U-joint operating angles.
- Complete a full front alignment — caster, camber, and toe — before highway driving.
Optional upgrade — 3-link front geometry:
If converting to 3-link front geometry simultaneously, install COR-4805013 components before final alignment. If converting to 3-link later, order COR-4805015 (add-on) — not COR-4805013, which would duplicate hardware already installed.
Required tools (qualified shop):
| Tool | Required |
|---|---|
| Vehicle lift rated for TJ/LJ | Yes |
| Torque wrench | Yes |
| Full socket and wrench set | Yes |
| Geometry setting and measurement equipment | Yes |
| Alignment equipment or appointment | Yes |
Common Questions
What is the difference between this and COR-4807002 (LJ version)?
Platform coverage only. COR-4807002 is the LJ Unlimited-designated front long arm kit — identical specifications, designated for the LJ. COR-4805002 covers both the TJ (1997–2006) and the LJ Unlimited (2004–2006). If your vehicle is a 1997–2003 TJ (2-door), COR-4805002 is the correct SKU — COR-4807002 does not confirm TJ fitment. If your vehicle is a 2004–2006 LJ Unlimited, either SKU applies.
If I start with this kit and later want 3-link front geometry, what do I order?
COR-4805015 — the front 3-link conversion add-on for TJ and LJ. It adds the weld-on upper arm mount brackets and the single upper 3-link arm to the existing long arm system installed by this kit, converting the front from 4-link to 3-link geometry. Do not order COR-4805013 after installing this kit — COR-4805013 is the complete front 3-link kit that includes lower arms and frame brackets you already have, which would be redundant. Text (469) 407-7538 to confirm the correct upgrade sequence before ordering.
Does this require a front CV driveshaft?
No — this is a standard 4-link long arm conversion. A CV-style front driveshaft is not required. Verify front driveshaft U-joint operating angles after installation as a standard post-install check.
Does this include a front axle truss?
No — the front standard long arm kits in the Clayton lineup do not include a front axle truss. The rear long arm kits (COR-4805003 and COR-4805017) include a 4-link rear axle truss. If front axle tube reinforcement is needed for your build, source a D30 front truss separately.
What is the warranty?
Clayton Off Road provides a lifetime warranty on all control arms — upper and lower. Confirm full terms at claytonoffroad.com/pages/warranty-policy.
The Obsidian Take
This kit is for the 1997–2006 TJ or 2004–2006 LJ Unlimited owner running 4" to 8" of front lift who wants to replace the short arm front geometry with long arm geometry without requiring a certified welder, a custom exhaust, or a CV driveshaft. The Currie Johnny Joints, GIIRO bushings, and adjustable upper and lower arms are the correct hardware specification for a bolt-on front long arm upgrade at this lift height range.
The distinction from COR-4807002 (LJ version) is platform coverage — one line. For a 1997–2003 TJ, this is the correct kit. For a 2004–2006 LJ, either applies. Everything else about the build is the same.
The upgrade path to 3-link is available later through COR-4805015 — not COR-4805013 — without duplicating hardware already installed by this kit. Order COR-4805013 only if starting a 3-link front build from scratch before any long arm hardware is installed. Order COR-4805002 first if the preference is a 4-link long arm now with a potential 3-link conversion later.
Pair this with COR-4805003 for the matching rear long arm upgrade kit — together they cover the complete TJ/LJ long arm front and rear geometry conversion at 4"–8" without any fabrication requirements.
It is not for the JK or JL. It is not for lifts below 4". And it is not complete without COR-4805003 (rear) for a full long arm TJ/LJ conversion.
Manufacturer Data Disclaimer

Non-Returnable Notice
Suspension components are non-returnable once installed. Confirm vehicle identity (1997–2006 TJ or 2004–2006 LJ Unlimited — not JK or JL), lift height (4"–8"), and upgrade path (if 3-link is the eventual goal, review Field 6 before ordering this kit).
