Fitment, Shipping & Product Support

VerifiedΒ Fitment

This is a fabrication builder kit β€” not a complete track bar for a specific vehicle. There is no bolt-on fitment table for this product. The components in this kit are used by builders to fabricate a custom front adjustable track bar for high-steer front axle conversions on XJ, ZJ, TJ, and LJ platforms (and similar solid front axle applications). The final track bar geometry, length, and installation are determined by the builder based on their specific build.

Application Notes
1984–2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Reference platform β€” high-steer front axle conversion
1993–1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ Reference platform β€” high-steer front axle conversion
1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Reference platform β€” high-steer front axle conversion
2004–2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited Reference platform β€” high-steer front axle conversion

This kit is for custom fabrication only. A builder must determine the correct track bar length, end geometry, and mounting configuration for their specific high-steer build. This kit provides the components β€” not the geometry solution.

Does NOT Fit

Exclusion Reason
Jeep Wrangler JK (2007–2018) with factory steering This kit is specifically for high-steer front axle conversions β€” not for factory JK steering geometry. JK-specific front track bars are COR-4508100.
Jeep Wrangler JL (2018–2026) with factory steering Same β€” this kit is for high-steer applications. JL/JT front track bar is COR-4509100.
Any vehicle without a high-steer front axle conversion High-steer geometry creates different track bar mount positions than factory steering β€” these components are designed for that application. Using them with a factory steering setup may not produce correct geometry.
Buyers looking for a bolt-on complete track bar This is a builder kit β€” raw fabrication components. No complete track bar is included. The buyer fabricates the final bar.
Buyers without fabrication capability This kit requires welding and tube cutting to produce a functional track bar. No complete geometry is provided.

CriticalΒ Compatibility

Condition Interaction Action Required
High-steer application only This kit is designed for high-steer front axle conversions where the tie rod and drag link have been relocated above the factory position. In a high-steer setup, the track bar mount positions change relative to factory steering geometry. This kit's components are designed for that geometry. Using these components in a factory steering setup may not produce a track bar that achieves correct axle centering. Confirm your build uses a high-steer front axle conversion before ordering this kit.
Builder determines all geometry The correct track bar length, end angles, and mounting positions for your specific high-steer build depend on your axle, lift height, track bar mount locations, and steering geometry. This kit provides the hardware β€” the builder must determine and verify the geometry. Have your high-steer track bar geometry confirmed before ordering and fabricating.
1-3/4" OD DOM tube end β€” tube selection The kit includes a 1-3/4" OD DOM tube end. The main track bar tube must be sourced separately and must be compatible with this tube end diameter for correct welding. Source the main track bar tube in 1-3/4" OD to match the included tube end, or confirm your tube OD matches before ordering.
Heim joint sizing The included heim joint is designed for this high-steer track bar kit. Confirm the heim joint bolt diameter is compatible with your track bar mount hardware before finalizing the build. Verify heim joint bolt size against your mount hardware specifications.
Jam nut β€” lock before driving The jam nut must be torqued against the heim joint body at the final length setting before the bar is installed. A loosely set jam nut allows the bar to change length under load. Torque jam nut to the correct specification at the set length before installation.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Expert fabricator. This kit produces a custom track bar through a fabrication process β€” not a bolt-on installation. The builder is responsible for all geometry decisions and fabrication quality.

Fabrication process:

  1. Determine the required track bar length for your high-steer build based on your axle position, lift height, and mount locations.
  2. Source the main track bar tube in 1-3/4" OD DOM to match the included tube end.
  3. Cut the main tube to the correct length.
  4. Weld the included 1-3/4" OD DOM tube end to the main tube β€” full-penetration weld.
  5. Thread the adjustable heim joint assembly onto the threaded tube end.
  6. Set the heim joint to the correct length for your build geometry. Torque the jam nut.
  7. Install the fabricated track bar in the high-steer front axle mount positions.
  8. Verify front axle is centered laterally.
  9. Complete a full front alignment β€” caster and toe.

CommonΒ Questions

What is this kit and who is it for?
This is a builder kit β€” the components needed to fabricate a custom front adjustable track bar for a high-steer front axle conversion. It is for builders who are constructing a custom track bar to fit their specific high-steer geometry and cannot use an off-the-shelf bar because their build has non-standard mount positions or requires a specific bar length that ready-made bars do not cover. The builder sources the main tube, cuts to length, welds the included tube end, and threads on the included adjustable heim joint assembly.

What is a high-steer conversion and why does it change the track bar?
A high-steer conversion relocates the tie rod and drag link above the factory steering position β€” typically to above the differential housing β€” to improve ground clearance and reduce the risk of bending these components on trail obstacles. Moving the tie rod to a higher position changes the angles that the track bar must run to maintain correct axle centering. An off-the-shelf track bar designed for factory steering geometry may not be the correct length or angle for a high-steer setup.

Does this fit the JK, JL, or JT?
This kit is referenced for XJ, ZJ, TJ, and LJ applications in the context of high-steer conversions. JK, JL, and JT applications may also use this kit for high-steer custom builds, but the listed reference platforms are the builder's guide. Confirm your specific application with OFAS before ordering. Text (469) 407-7538.

Can I use this to replace my factory track bar?
Not directly β€” this is a fabrication builder kit, not a drop-in replacement. If your build uses factory steering geometry, the platform-specific adjustable track bars (COR-4508100 for JK, COR-4509100 for JL/JT) are the correct products. This kit is for high-steer conversions where off-the-shelf bars do not fit the custom geometry.

What main tube do I need?
Source a main track bar tube in 1-3/4" OD DOM steel at the correct length for your build. Confirm the OD matches the included tube end before ordering your tube material.

The ObsidianΒ Take

This kit is for the experienced builder running a high-steer front axle conversion who needs to fabricate a custom adjustable front track bar that fits their specific mount geometry β€” not a production bar that was designed for factory steering positions. The 1-3/4" OD DOM tube end, adjustable heim joint, and jam nut are the components; the builder supplies the tube, the welds, and the geometry decisions.

Every other track bar product in this session was a complete bar or bracket for a specific platform at specific lift heights. This kit is the opposite: no specified platform, no specified lift height, no complete bar. The buyer's high-steer build geometry determines all of that.

It is not a bolt-on replacement for factory steering geometry track bars β€” those are COR-4508100 (JK), COR-4509100 (JL/JT), COR-4509110 (JL rear), and COR-4508110 (JK rear). It is not for buyers without fabrication capability. And it is not the first purchase for a builder who has not yet confirmed their high-steer track bar geometry β€” that geometry definition needs to happen before the components arrive.

Manufacturer DataΒ Disclaimer

Product specifications are sourced from Clayton Off Road product documentation and authorized product information. Final track bar geometry, length, and application compatibility are determined by the builder based on their specific high-steer build configuration. Clayton Off Road components are provided as raw fabrication hardware β€” the final product's performance depends on the builder's geometry decisions and fabrication quality. Confirm application compatibility with Clayton or OFAS before ordering.

Non-Returnable Notice

Fabrication components are non-returnable once used. Confirm your high-steer build geometry and main tube specifications before ordering. This is a builder kit β€” not a complete track bar. Text (469) 407-7538 with any application questions before your order is placed.
