Phase 1 — Knuckle preparation:

  1. Drill the passenger side upper knuckle to exactly 7/8" using a drill press or bore guide for an on-axis bore. Clean the bore.
  2. Press the CNC knuckle insert into the drilled bore using a press or parallel-faced driver until fully seated and flush. Do not hammer without a driver.
  3. Verify the insert is fully seated with no movement.

Phase 2 — Track bar bracket bolt-in:

  1. Install the 1/4" track bar bracket at the factory axle bracket location using the three 3/8"-16 Grade 8 bolts and the 9/16" Grade 8 bolt with spacer. Snug all bolts — do not final torque before welding.

Phase 3 — Weld-out:

What is the drag link flip and why do I need it at 3.5"–4.5" of lift?
At factory ride height, the JK's drag link and tie rod run roughly parallel — the correct geometry for predictable, bump-steer-free steering. When you lift the JK 3.5"–4.5", the drag link drops relative to the tie rod and the two links no longer run at matching angles. The result is bump steer on every suspension cycle, steering wander, and in severe cases, death wobble triggered by that geometry mismatch. The drag link flip moves the drag link mount to the passenger side upper knuckle above the tie rod, restoring parallel link geometry. The track bar bracket simultaneously corrects track bar angle and clears the differential cover.

Can I drive it after bolt-in without welding?
