Item Notes
Rear leaf spring (Full Progressive or Add-a-Pack) Required — must be selected at checkout. Carli states that without a rear leaf spring selection, ride quality and height result will be unknown. Full Progressive Leaf Springs (CS-FFSP-LVL-11) strongly recommended — especially for F-350 which has stiffer factory main springs. Add-a-Pack (CS-FPAP-11) maintains factory payload capacity.
F-350 payload restoration (if Full Springs selected) Full Progressive Leaf Springs reduce F-350 to "light ¾-ton" capacity. An aftermarket airbag system can restore payload if needed. Sold separately.
Torsion Sway Bar Optional upgrade available at checkout — replaces factory sway bar, improves ride quality on and off-road. Recommended for buyers not loaded to GVWR daily.
Fabricated Radius Arms Optional upgrade — adds tire clearance, limit strap shock protection, serviceable spherical bearings, and additional caster correction.
Steering stabilizers High Mount and Low Mount options available separately or together.
Leaf Spring Shackle Optional upgrade for improved rear ride quality. Sold separately.
Professional installation labor Shop installation required. Not included.
Post-install alignment Mandatory after installation. Not included — schedule with installer.

Critical Compatibility

Condition Interaction Action Required
Rear leaf spring — required, not optional Carli explicitly warns that selecting no rear leaf spring option will produce unknown ride quality and height. The system is tuned for either the Full Progressive Springs or Add-a-Pack. Select rear leaf spring option at checkout — Full Progressive recommended, especially for F-350.
F-250 vs. F-350 rear spring recommendation Since 2008, F-250 has a lighter-rate main spring pack than F-350. The Add-a-Pack improves F-250 rear ride meaningfully. For F-350, the Add-a-Pack does little for unloaded ride due to the stiffer 3-spring main pack. Carli strongly recommends Full Progressive Leaf Springs for F-350 specifically. F-350 owners: order Full Progressive Leaf Springs (CS-FFSP-LVL-11) unless payload maintenance is critical.
Factory wheels with oversized tires Carli explicitly states factory wheels should not be run with oversized tires — they are known to rub the radius arm, sway bar, and brake lines. Factory tires on factory wheels work without issue. Order correct aftermarket wheels (17"–18", max 9" wide, 5.5" backspacing with Carli radius arms) for any oversized tire fitment.
Track bar — no drop brackets CS-FPRB-05 will not work with track bar drop brackets. Carli's geometry correction is achieved through bar adjustment, not a drop bracket. Confirm existing or planned lift geometry does not include a drop bracket before ordering.
Gas-powered 2011–2016 Super Duty Diesel and gas systems are different — diesel coils, shock tuning, and geometry specs do not apply to gas trucks. Order CS-FLVL-BC-CS-11-GAS for gas applications.
2017+ Super Duty Different platform, different track bar (CUB design), different lift height per spring. This system does not transfer to 2017+. Order CS-FLVL-BC-CS-17 for 2017+ diesel applications.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced. Complete front suspension system with rear leaf spring replacement. A shop with Ford Super Duty experience is strongly recommended.

Post-install alignment: Full front-end alignment is mandatory after installation.

Track bar adjustment: CS-FPRB-05 must be adjusted to the 2.5" configuration before installation. Incorrect adjustment leaves the axle off-center.

Caster shims: 2° caster shims are included and must be installed to correct and improve front end geometry over stock.

Rear leaf spring installation: The rear leaf spring selection — either Full Progressive or Add-a-Pack — must be installed simultaneously with the front system. Installing front system components without addressing the rear produces an unbalanced result.

F-350 3-5/8" factory block note: F-350 trucks equipped with a factory 3-5/8" tall block will require the factory 2" block (Part Numbers 7C3Z-5598-L and 7C3Z-5598-K) to achieve a leveled stance with the Add-a-Pack option. Full Progressive Springs do not require the factory block.

Common Questions

What's the difference between this and the Leveling System (CS-FLVL-SIG-05) and Starter System (CS-FLVL-STR-SIG-11)?
Three systems in ascending order of capability. The Leveling System and Starter System both use Carli Signature 2.0 IFP shocks (limited lifetime warranty, internal floating piston). The Backcountry uses Carli-SPEC 2.0" Remote Reservoir shocks (1-year warranty, remote reservoir for better heat management on and off-road). The Backcountry is designed for buyers who want slow-to-mid-speed off-road capability in addition to daily on-road performance. The Leveling and Starter Systems are on-road and light-duty focused.

Do I have to buy rear springs with this system?
Yes — Carli explicitly states the system is tuned for either the Full Progressive Leaf Springs or the Add-a-Pack, and that selecting no rear option will produce unknown ride quality and height. The rear leaf spring is required but selected separately at checkout. For F-350 owners, Full Progressive Leaf Springs are strongly recommended over the Add-a-Pack due to the F-350's stiffer factory spring pack.

Does this include the adjustable track bar?
Yes — CS-FPRB-05 is included in the base kit. This is the same adjustable track bar sold as a standalone part for $438. It uses an FK Race Heim frame joint and an offset machined tapered rod end at the axle — not the CUB uniball design used in the 2017+ track bar (CS-FATB-17).

Can I run my factory wheels with 35" or 37" tires on this lift?
No — Carli explicitly states factory wheels should not be run with oversized tires. Factory wheels are known to cause rubbing on the radius arm, sway bar, and brake lines with oversized tires. Factory tires on factory wheels work fine. For oversized tires, Carli recommends 17"–18" wheels, max 9" wide, with 5.5" backspacing when running Carli Fabricated Radius Arms, or 5" backspacing with factory arms.

What is the shock warranty?
The Carli-SPEC 2.0" Remote Reservoir shocks carry a 1-year warranty, serviced by Carli. This is different from the Carli Signature Series IFP shocks in the Leveling and Starter Systems, which carry a limited lifetime warranty. The tradeoff is the remote reservoir design's superior heat management for off-road use.

The Obsidian Take

This system is for the 2011–2016 F-250 or F-350 Diesel owner who wants a leveled Super Duty with meaningful off-road capability — not just a road-smooth commuter truck. The Carli-SPEC 2.0" Remote Reservoir shocks and 13.8" of rear wheel travel are what separate this from the Leveling and Starter System alternatives using Signature IFP shocks. The Backcountry is built for slow-to-mid-speed off-road use while remaining a fully capable on-road, highway, and towing platform.

The mandatory rear leaf spring is not an upsell — it is a functional requirement. Carli cannot tune a complete system around an unknown rear spring rate. F-350 owners in particular should order the Full Progressive Leaf Springs, not the Add-a-Pack. The F-350's stiffer 3-spring main pack makes the Add-a-Pack an inadequate rear solution for most use cases.

It is not for the gas-powered Super Duty owner — that truck requires CS-FLVL-BC-CS-11-GAS. It is not for the 2017-or-newer Super Duty — that platform uses a different system and a different track bar. And it is not for the buyer who wants the maximum off-road performance Carli offers — the Pintop, E-Venture, and Dominator systems provide more capability at higher price points and complexity levels.

At $2,690 plus rear leaf springs, this is the point in the Carli 2011–2016 Super Duty lineup where on-road comfort and off-road performance stop trading off against each other.
