Does NOT fit:
- 2018 and earlier Silverado / Sierra 1500 (K2 or GMT900 platform) — different bed geometry; order the 75x48 HD platform for those trucks
- Silverado / Sierra T1 with the 5.8-foot short bed — the HD tier does not currently offer a confirmed 5.8-foot short bed platform; order the Classic (10-6848-CLB) or Contractor (15-6848-CGB) for the T1 short box
- Silverado / Sierra with the 8-foot long bed — order 20-9548-HDB
- Any truck with a spray-in or drop-in bed liner — liner removal required before installation
Note on bed length terminology: Silverado/Sierra 1500 T1 designates this as the "6.9-foot" standard bed. Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD designates the same bed dimensions as the "6¾-foot" bed. Both share the same interior measurement (~83.6") and the same 78x48 platform.
2022 model year note: The 2022 Silverado/Sierra 1500 may carry either the T1 or T1XX platform designation depending on build date. Both use identical bed dimensions — this SKU fits both.

HD bearing distinction: The Classic tier uses 2 Cam Follower bearings + 2 ball-sealed roller bearings. The HD doubles the Cam Follower count to 4, all four being load-bearing elements. At 2,000 lb rated capacity, each bearing operates at roughly 15% of its 3,282 lb static ceiling — a significant engineering margin for long-term daily commercial use.

No-drill kit compatibility: All Bedslide no-drill factory mount kits — BSA-GM6878, BSA-F150-2017, BSA-GM5871, and all others — are confirmed for Classic Silver, Classic Black, and S-model Bedslides only. The HD tier is not compatible with any no-drill kit. Standard bolt-in installation with drilling into the bed floor is required for this SKU. If no-drill installation is a hard requirement at any capacity level for the T1, the Classic tier (10-7848-CLB or 10-6848-CLB) is the only option.
Aluminum bed note: The T1 Silverado/Sierra uses steel beds — BSA-HALUMKT is not required. This distinguishes GM T1 installations from F-150 applications.
Critical Compatibility
The T1 platform split is the single most important detail on this listing — same as every other T1-specific SKU in this catalog.
The T1 Silverado/Sierra launched for 2019 as a complete redesign. Bed interior dimensions, rail geometry, and tie-down anchor positions are incompatible with K2 (2014–2018) and GMT900 (2007–2013) platforms. A K2-era Bedslide cannot be used in a T1 bed and vice versa. The 78x48 platform is T1-only.
Silverado/Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD — confirmed fitment the source doc excluded.
The 2020–2026 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the 6¾-foot standard bed share the same interior dimensions as the T1 1500 standard box and are confirmed for this SKU. This is a high-relevance application — HD trucks are disproportionately used in heavy commercial contexts where 2,000 lb capacity is the appropriate tier. If you have a 2500HD or 3500HD with the standard bed, this SKU fits.
Short bed vs. standard bed — measure before ordering.
T1 short box: approximately 69.9" interior. T1 standard box: approximately 83.6" interior. If you're unsure which bed you have, measure from the inside face of the front bulkhead to the inside face of the closed tailgate. 70 inches = short box. 84 inches = standard box.
No-drill option does not exist for the HD tier.
The BSA-GM6878 no-drill kit covers the T1 in both bed lengths — but only for Classic and S-model Bedslides. There is no no-drill path to the HD tier. If you need 2,000 lb capacity on the T1 standard box, drilling is required.
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| 2019–2026 Silverado / Sierra 1500 T1 — 6.9-foot standard box | Confirmed fit |
| 2020–2026 Silverado / Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD — 6¾-foot standard box | Confirmed fit |
| 2019–2026 T1 Silverado / Sierra — 5.8-foot short box | Does NOT fit — Classic or Contractor tier only for T1 short bed |
| 2018 and earlier Silverado / Sierra (K2 / GMT900) | Does NOT fit — different platform |
| 2022 Silverado / Sierra — T1 or T1XX | Confirmed fit across both designations |
| T1 Silverado / Sierra — 8-foot long box | Does NOT fit — order 20-9548-HDB |
| No-drill kit installation | Not available on HD tier — drilling required |
| Bed liner installed | Liner removal required before installation |
| Tonneau cover or truck cap | Confirm 4.5" minimum vertical clearance above bed floor |
Installation Notes
Skill level: Intermediate — drilling into the bed floor is required. No no-drill option exists for this tier.
Estimated time: 1–2 hours with two people.
Shipping: LTL freight. Residential delivery included. OFAS will contact you after order placement to coordinate delivery scheduling. Inspect for shipping damage before signing the delivery receipt — note any damage on the bill of lading.
Tools required: Drill with appropriate bit for steel bed floor, socket set, wrench, and torque wrench. No specialized tools beyond standard hand tools and a drill.
No no-drill option: The BSA-GM6878 no-drill kit covers T1 Silverado/Sierra in both bed lengths — but is compatible with Classic and S-model Bedslides only. The HD tier requires floor-drilling for installation. If you're committed to preserving an undrilled bed floor, the only path is the Classic tier (10-7848-CLB at 1,000 lb).
Bed liner removal: Bedslide explicitly states installation over spray-in or drop-in liners is not recommended. Remove liner before installation.
T1 steel bed note: Unlike the F-150, the T1 Silverado/Sierra uses steel bed construction. BSA-HALUMKT is not required and should not be ordered for this application.
Two-person installation is required: At 73 lb and 78 inches long, this platform cannot be safely positioned alone. The dual pin latch and 8-inch rail system add alignment complexity during initial seating.
Common Questions
Does this fit my 2021 Silverado 2500HD with the standard bed?
Yes. The 2020–2026 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD with the 6¾-foot standard bed are confirmed fitments for this SKU — an application the source listing incorrectly excluded. If you have a 2500HD or 3500HD with the standard box, this is your platform.
I have a T1 Silverado with the short bed — what HD option do I have?
The HD tier does not currently offer a confirmed T1 short box platform. For the T1 5.8-foot short bed, the Classic (10-6848-CLB) and Contractor (15-6848-CGB) tiers are the available options. If you need 2,000 lb capacity specifically, text (469) 407-7538 and we'll verify current availability.
Can I use the BSA-GM6878 no-drill kit with the HD tier?
No. The BSA-GM6878 and every other Bedslide no-drill kit is explicitly confirmed for Classic Silver, Classic Black, and S-model only. The HD tier requires drilling. This is a confirmed limitation — not a workaround scenario.
What makes the HD different from the Classic or Contractor?
The HD uses four Cam Follower load-bearing elements vs. the Classic's two (with two guide bearings). Combined static bearing rating is 13,128 lb. The HD also runs 8-inch perimeter guardrails (vs. standard height on Classic) and a dual pin latch specifically engineered to eliminate binding under heavy load. These are structural engineering differences, not cosmetic upgrades.
Does the slide pull all the way past the tailgate?
No. The HD operates at 75% (¾ extension) — same as Classic and Contractor. At 78 inches of platform length, 75% extension delivers approximately 58 inches of accessible slide distance from beside the tailgate. Bedslide's MAX Extension product line offers 100% extension if that's a requirement.
The Obsidian Take
The 20-7848-HDB is the maximum-capacity Bedslide for the T1 Silverado/Sierra standard-box platform — and it's the correct purchase for a specific type of operator: one whose bed sees loads that consistently push past what the Classic or Contractor handles comfortably, and whose use case justifies the trade-off of a drilled bed floor.
The 2,000 lb capacity is the engineering reality, not a marketing headline. Four Cam Follower bearings running at 15% of their individual static ceiling under maximum load means this system is built to cycle daily under heavy commercial conditions for years without degradation. The 8-inch perimeter rails are the other structural differentiator that matters operationally — for dense, top-heavy equipment like compressors, generators, and hydraulic units, the added rail height keeps load contained during extension and retraction in a way that shorter rails on the Classic simply cannot.
The most important decision tree on this page: is the HD the right tier for your actual load? If your standard-box T1 regularly sees loads between 1,000 lb and 1,500 lb, the Contractor (15-7848-CGB) handles that with margin — at lower cost and with BSA-GM6878 no-drill installation available. The HD becomes the unambiguous answer when loads push 1,500–2,000 lb regularly, when weight concentrates unevenly across the platform, or when the truck is in a commercial fleet context where the slide runs daily cycles under load.
The no-drill trade-off is real and shouldn't be glossed over. If a factory-fresh, undrilled T1 bed floor is a priority, the Classic is the only no-drill path at any capacity level for this bed size. The HD requires drilling — full stop. For commercial operators, four holes in a work truck bed floor is a non-issue. For enthusiast buyers who want zero modifications, this factor matters.
This SKU is for: 2019–2026 T1 Silverado/Sierra 1500 and 2020–2026 2500HD/3500HD owners with the standard box who operate consistently near or above 1,500 lb, run dense or top-heavy commercial loads where 8-inch rails provide meaningful containment, and are comfortable with a drilled-floor installation on a working truck.
This SKU is NOT for: T1 owners with the 5.8-foot short box (Classic or Contractor tier for the short bed — HD not confirmed for that application), 2018 and earlier Silverado/Sierra (wrong platform — K2 uses the 75x48 tier), anyone who needs no-drill installation (Classic tier only path), anyone whose loads stay comfortably under 1,500 lb (Contractor tier is the correct fit at lower cost), or anyone whose truck is a T1 with the 8-foot long box (order 20-9548-HDB).
