Component Specifications

Dimensional note: All Bedslide measurements are outer dimensions including the grab bar handle. ¼-inch manufacturing tolerance applies. The 48" width accommodates a standard sheet of plywood (actual dimension 48.25"). Tier Guide — 8-Foot Long Bed

The 8-foot long bed is the only Bedslide size available across all three capacity tiers (Classic, Contractor, and Heavy Duty). If your use case involves consistent heavy contractor loads, review the Contractor and HD tiers before purchasing.

What Is and Is NOT Included

No-drill kit availability:

• Silverado / Sierra 2014–2018 — 8-foot bed: BSA-GM7895 (confirmed)
• Silverado / Sierra 2016–2024 — 8-foot bed: Confirmed available; verify current kit SKU with OFAS before ordering
• All other makes and years: Standard bolt-in installation applies; no confirmed Bedslide no-drill kit for Ram, F-250/F-350, Tundra, or Titan on this SKU

Critical Compatibility

The 8-foot long bed is rarer than most buyers assume. In current full-size truck production, the 8-foot bed is primarily a Regular Cab and work-package configuration. Most crew cab buyers never see it — it's scoped to fleet and commercial purchasers running Regular Cab or Double Cab configurations. Before ordering, confirm your bed interior length actually measures approximately 96 inches from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate.

Ford F-150 — 8-foot bed discontinued in 2015.
When Ford transitioned to the aluminum-body F-150 for 2015, the 8-foot bed was removed from the lineup entirely. If you have a 2015 or newer F-150, your maximum bed option was 6.5 feet — you do not have an 8-foot bed. The Ford 8-foot bed continues only on the Super Duty platform (F-250 and F-350), which is steel-bodied and currently available in 8-foot configuration across Regular Cab, SuperCab, and some Crew Cab configurations.

Nissan Titan — Single Cab only; truck discontinued.
The Titan's 8-foot bed was only available on the Single Cab configuration. Neither the Crew Cab (5.5-foot bed) nor the King Cab (6.5-foot bed) offered an 8-foot option. Importantly, Nissan announced the Titan's discontinuation after the 2024 model year. New Titan inventory is no longer being produced, though used and fleet units remain in widespread service.

Toyota Tundra — Double Cab configuration only.
The Tundra's 8.1-foot long bed (96.5" interior) paired with the Double Cab. The CrewMax configuration only comes with the 5.5-foot bed. If you have a Tundra CrewMax, this is not your SKU.

Installation Notes

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced due to platform size and weight. Two-person installation is not a suggestion — it's a requirement.

Estimated time: 1–2 hours with two people.

Tools required: Basic socket set, wrench, and torque wrench. For no-drill kit applications, confirm factory anchor point accessibility before ordering.

Two-person requirement: At 73 lb and 95 inches long, this platform is not a one-person installation. Positioning an 8-foot Bedslide in an 8-foot bed requires at least two people — one to guide the platform and one to manage mounting alignment. Attempting solo installation risks misalignment and personal injury.

No-drill options:

Bed liner warning: Bedslide explicitly does not recommend installation over spray-in or drop-in liners. Liner thickness varies and creates mounting inconsistency. Remove liner before installation — particularly important on 8-foot beds where the full platform length creates more contact points and greater sensitivity to floor-level variation.

Tonneau cover and truck cap clearance: Confirm at least 4.5 inches of vertical clearance above the bed floor. For 8-foot caps and tonneau covers, measure at the rear of the bed — some caps have reduced clearance near the tailgate end.

Freight notice: This unit ships LTL freight. Residential delivery is included. OFAS will contact you after order placement to coordinate delivery scheduling. Inspect for shipping damage before signing the delivery receipt — note any damage on the bill of lading before accepting.

Common Questions

Does this fit my 2022 F-150 with the 8-foot bed?
No. The 2022 F-150 does not offer an 8-foot bed — Ford discontinued that option when the aluminum-body F-150 launched in 2015. The maximum F-150 bed is 6.5 feet. If you have a Super Duty (F-250 or F-350), those are still available with the 8-foot bed and this SKU fits.

My Nissan Titan Crew Cab has the long bed — does this fit?
The Titan Crew Cab's longest bed is 5.5 feet — not 8 feet. The Titan's 8-foot bed was Single Cab only. If you have a Crew Cab Titan, this is not your SKU.

What's the difference between this SKU and the Contractor tier (15-9548-CGB)?
Capacity and construction. The Classic is rated at 1,000 lb with two guide bearings. The Contractor is rated at 1,500 lb with a heavier bearing configuration. If your 8-foot bed sees regular commercial loads near or above 1,000 lb, step to the Contractor. The Classic is appropriate for tool storage, recreational equipment, and general contractor runs under that limit.

What's the difference between this SKU and the HD tier (20-9548-HDB)?
2,000 lb capacity vs. 1,000 lb — and a significantly heavier construction accordingly. The HD tier is for dedicated heavy commercial use where loads consistently approach or exceed Contractor capacity.

Does the slide pull all the way past the tailgate?
No. The Classic operates at 75% (¾) extension. An 8-foot bed at 75% extension gives you substantial pull-out distance — enough to reach everything from beside the tailgate without climbing in. If full extension to or past the tailgate plane is required, the Bedslide MAX Extension variants are available in this capacity tier.

Does the 48" width accommodate a sheet of plywood?
Yes. Bedslide confirms the 48" platform actually manufactures at 48.25" — specifically to accommodate a standard 4x8 sheet of plywood. On an 8-foot bed, full sheets can be laid flat on the platform.

The 10-9548-CLB is the entry-level platform for full-size 8-foot bed work trucks — and the Classic tier is the right call for the majority of operators who run this configuration. The 8-foot bed is a contractor and fleet configuration; people who spec it are using their truck as a tool. The capacity comparison matters more on this SKU than on shorter-bed platforms because 8-foot bed trucks are disproportionately running heavier payloads than, say, a crew cab short bed. The honest question before landing on the Classic is whether your regular loads stay under 1,000 lb distributed evenly. If you're hauling stacked material, palletized product, or heavy equipment where weight concentrates unevenly, the Contractor (15-9548-CGB) is the correct tier — it adds 500 lb of rated capacity and handles uneven distribution better. On finish for an 8-foot work bed: black makes practical sense. These trucks see daily commercial contact — tools, materials, equipment — and the black finish handles it without showing surface wear the way silver does. It also matches the aesthetics of most commercial-spec trucks, which tend toward dark trims and utility-focused configurations.

The one spec that matters most on this SKU: measure your interior bed length before ordering. Not every truck marketed as an "8-foot bed" has identical interior measurements.
