2022 model year note: The 2022 Silverado/Sierra 1500 may be either the T1 or the updated T1XX platform, depending on build date. Both use the same bed dimensions and this SKU fits both. Tier Guide — T1 Silverado / Sierra 6.9-Foot Standard Bed

Note on no-drill kit and tier compatibility: The BSA-GM6878 no-drill kit is only compatible with the Classic Silver and Black Edition and S-model Bedslides. It is not compatible with the Contractor or Heavy Duty tiers. If you plan to step up to the Contractor or HD, standard bolt-in installation applies.

What Is and Is NOT Included

No-drill kit note: BSA-GM6878 covers both T1 bed lengths — the 5.8-foot short bed and the 6.9-foot standard bed — with one kit. If you're already ordering the companion SKU (10-6848-CLB) for the short bed, you need only one BSA-GM6878 to cover both installations. Sold separately. Works with Classic Silver, Classic Black, and S-model only.

Critical Compatibility

The T1 platform cutoff is the single most important detail on this listing — and the same rule applies here as on the short-bed SKU.

The T1 Silverado/Sierra launched for 2019 as a ground-up redesign. Bed dimensions, rail geometry, and tie-down anchor positions are completely different from the K2 (2014–2018) and GMT900 (2007–2013) platforms. The 78x48 platform is T1-specific. It does not fit the K2 6.5-foot bed — that bed is handled by the 75x48 platform (10-7548-CLB).

Short bed vs. standard bed — measure before ordering.
The T1 Silverado/Sierra is available in two bed configurations: the 5.8-foot short box (~69.9" interior) and the 6.9-foot standard box (~83.6" interior). This SKU is for the 6.9-foot standard box. If you have the short box, stop here and order 10-6848-CLB. To verify which bed you have: measure from the inside of the front bulkhead to the inside face of the closed tailgate. Approximately 70 inches = short box. Approximately 84 inches = standard box.

Silverado/Sierra HD (2500HD / 3500HD) fitment confirmed.
This SKU is confirmed for 2019–2026 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the 6.9-foot bed — a frequently overlooked fitment that the source doc excluded. The 6.9-foot bed on the HD trucks shares the same interior dimensions as the T1 1500 standard box.

No-drill installation (BSA-GM6878):
Uses factory tie-down anchor points built into the T1 bed floor. Zero holes in your bed. Sold separately. Compatible with this SKU (Classic Black and Silver) — not compatible with Contractor or HD tier Bedslides. One kit serves both the 5.8-foot and 6.9-foot T1 beds, so if you own two T1-platform trucks or are purchasing both bed length SKUs, one BSA-GM6878 kit covers both.

Bed liner warning: Bedslide explicitly does not recommend installation over spray-in or drop-in liners. Remove liner before installation to ensure proper alignment and mounting stability.

Two-person recommendation: At 73 lb and 78 inches long, this platform is significantly easier to position and align in the standard-box bed with a second person present for initial placement.

Clearance check: Confirm at least 4.5 inches of vertical clearance above the bed floor if running a tonneau cover or truck cap.

Bed length only — 6.9-foot vs. 5.8-foot. The platform widths, bearings, extension, capacity, and finish are identical. If you're unsure which bed your T1 has, measure from the inside bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. 70 inches = short box (order 10-6848-CLB). 84 inches = standard box (this SKU).

What's the difference between this SKU and the Contractor tier (15-7848-CGB)?
Capacity and construction — 1,000 lb vs. 1,500 lb, with heavier bearing configuration on the Contractor. If your standard-box bed carries regular loads under 1,000 lb evenly distributed, the Classic is the right tier. For consistent heavy commercial use near or above that limit, step to the Contractor. Note: the BSA-GM6878 no-drill kit only works with the Classic tier.

Does the slide pull all the way past the tailgate?
No. The Classic operates at 75% (¾) extension — it extends far enough to reach all of your cargo from beside the tailgate without climbing in, but does not travel completely past the tailgate plane.

Does one BSA-GM6878 kit fit both the short bed and standard bed?

The 10-7848-CLB is the T1 standard-box answer for Silverado and Sierra owners who chose the 6.9-foot configuration for a reason — typically because they need more linear bed length than the short box offers. That longer interior gives you roughly an additional foot of slide travel at 75% extension compared to the 5.8-foot short box, and it accommodates full sheets of plywood flat on the platform.

Two decisions define this SKU: the tier choice and the no-drill option.

On tier: most T1 standard-bed owners running the longer box are doing it for practical load reasons. If those loads stay under 1,000 lb distributed evenly — contractor supply runs, overlanding builds, recreational gear, organized tool storage — the Classic handles it cleanly. If you're loading near or above that consistently, or if loads concentrate weight unevenly (heavy toolbox at one end, nothing at the other), step to the Contractor tier now rather than later.

On the no-drill kit: BSA-GM6878 is one of the cleanest installations in the Bedslide catalog. One kit, factory anchor points, no holes in your bed, hand tools only. There's no functional performance reason to drill into a T1 bed when the no-drill kit exists and is purpose-built for this exact application. The only reason not to use it is if you're stepping up to the Contractor or HD tier — then you're back to standard bolt-in.

On black vs. silver: the T1 Silverado and Sierra lean hard into dark exterior treatments — Midnight Edition, Trail Boss, Duramax diesel graphics packages. Black is the correct aesthetic match for the overwhelming majority of these trucks. It's also the more practical outdoor finish for a standard-box bed that typically sees more active work use than a short-box crew cab weekend truck.

This SKU is for: 2019–2026 Silverado/Sierra 1500, 2500HD, or 3500HD T1 owners with the 6.9-foot standard box who want a 1,000 lb black cargo platform with the option for a factory no-drill installation and LTL freight delivery.
