F-150 2015+ aluminum bed — mandatory companion item:
Ford transitioned the F-150 to aluminum bed construction for the 2015 model year. Contact between standard steel mounting hardware and aluminum bed rails creates galvanic corrosion over time. If your F-150 is a 2015 or newer model year, order BSA-HALUMKT alongside this SKU. This is a Bedslide-stated requirement, not a suggestion.

Critical Compatibility

This is the highest-volume full-size 6.5-foot bed SKU in the Bedslide lineup — and the one with the most generation-specific traps.

The 2019 Silverado/Sierra T1 is the most common ordering mistake on this SKU. Buyers with new-generation Silverado 1500s frequently land on this page because their truck nominally has a "6.5-foot" box. The T1 platform's actual interior bed length is approximately 78.9 inches — close enough to the 6.5-foot label to be confusing, but sizing more accurately with the 79x48 Super Duty platform. F-150 aluminum bed — 2015 is the cutoff year. Every F-150 from 2015 onward has an aluminum bed. If your F-150 is a 2015 or newer model year, you need BSA-HALUMKT alongside this SKU. Ordering without it is an incomplete installation that risks corrosion damage to your truck bed.

Nissan Titan — King Cab only for 6.5-foot bed. The Titan's 6.5-foot bed is a King Cab configuration. Crew Cab Titans use the 5.5-foot bed. If you have a Titan Crew Cab, this is not your SKU. Also note the Titan was discontinued after 2024 — no new production.

Toyota Tundra — Double Cab only, 2007–2021. The 6.5-foot bed on the Tundra was available on Double Cab configurations during the second-generation production run. CrewMax Tundras use the 5.5-foot bed. Third-gen Tundra (2022+) has different bed geometry — verify before ordering.

Tools required: Basic socket set and wrench. For BSA-F150-2017 no-drill kit: T50 Torx bit and ratchet (not included). Confirm F-150 bed bolts are accessible and can be loosened before ordering the no-drill kit.

F-150 2015+ — aluminum bed protocol:
Before installation, confirm your F-150 model year. If 2015 or newer, order BSA-HALUMKT alongside this SKU. Failing to address the aluminum bed with the correct kit creates a galvanic corrosion path at mounting points — Bedslide explicitly states this requirement on the product page.

Bed liner removal: Bedslide does not recommend installation over spray-in or drop-in liners. Remove the liner before installation across all applications on this SKU.

Two-person installation: At 73 lb and 75 inches long, this platform is significantly easier to position and align with a second person.

Clearance check: Confirm at least 4.5 inches of vertical clearance above the bed floor if running a tonneau cover or truck cap.

My F-150 is a 2021 with the 6.5-foot bed — do I need anything extra?
Yes — two things. The 2021 F-150 has an aluminum bed, so order BSA-HALUMKT with this SKU to prevent galvanic corrosion. If you also want no-drill installation, order BSA-F150-2017, which uses your factory bed bolts.

Does the Super Duty F-250 or F-350 fit this SKU?
No. The Super Duty short bed is the 6.75-foot bed (~78.8" interior), which uses the 79x48 platform (SKU 10-7948-CLB). This 75x48 SKU is for F-150, Silverado/Sierra, Ram, Titan, and Tundra with a true 6.5-foot bed.

Does the slide extend past the tailgate?
No. The Classic operates at 75% (¾) extension — it extends far enough to reach all of your cargo from beside the tailgate without climbing in, but does not travel past the tailgate plane.

What's the difference between this SKU and the Contractor (15-7548-CGB)?
Capacity — 1,000 lb vs. 1,500 lb — and bearing construction. The Contractor handles heavier commercial loads and is built for regular use near or above the Classic's limit. If your bed sees consistent tool and equipment loads under 1,000 lb distributed evenly, the Classic is the right tier. If you're frequently loading near or above that threshold, step to the Contractor.

The 10-7548-CLB is the highest-volume full-size short-bed cargo slide in the Classic lineup — and the most commonly ordered with incorrect fitment assumptions. This SKU covers a wide swath of legacy and current full-size trucks across five major brands, which is its strength and its primary sourcing risk.

Two fitment decisions determine whether this SKU is right or wrong for your truck: your platform generation (2018 or earlier Silverado/Sierra vs. 2019+ T1) and your bed manufacturer's material (F-150 steel vs. aluminum at 2015+). Get those right before ordering and this is a straightforward purchase.

On the Classic vs. Contractor decision: the majority of 6.5-foot bed owners are running their trucks as personal-use or light commercial vehicles. Recreational gear, contractor supply runs, overlanding loadouts, organized tool storage — the Classic handles all of it cleanly. If you're loading consistently heavy or running dense professional payloads that approach or exceed 1,000 lb, step up to the Contractor before you wish you had.

On black vs. silver: the black edition handles outdoor commercial exposure better aesthetically and matches the working truck aesthetic most 6.5-foot bed buyers are running.
