Bed length note: This SKU is listed by Bedslide as the "5.8-foot" (sometimes referenced as 5.9-foot) short box for the T1 Silverado/Sierra. GM's official interior measurement for this bed is approximately 69.9 inches. If you are unsure whether your truck has the short or standard box, measure the interior bed length from the bulkhead to the inside face of the tailgate. Text (469) 407-7538 and we'll confirm before it ships.

Critical Compatibility
The T1 platform cutoff is the single most important detail on this listing.
The T1 Silverado/Sierra launched for 2019 as a ground-up redesign. The bed dimensions, rail geometry, and tie-down anchor positions are different from the K2 (2014–2018) and GMT900 (2007–2013) platforms. Using a K2-era Bedslide in a T1 bed — or the reverse — will result in misalignment. This SKU is built for T1 only.
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| 2019–2026 Silverado / Sierra 1500 T1 — 5.8-foot short box | Confirmed fit |
| 2019–2026 Silverado / Sierra 1500 T1 — 6.9-foot standard box | Does NOT fit — order 10-7848-CLS (silver) or 10-7848-CLB (black) |
| 2014–2018 Silverado / Sierra 1500 K2 — 5.8-foot box | Does NOT fit — order 10-6548-CLS |
| 2007–2013 Silverado / Sierra 1500 GMT900 | Does NOT fit — different platform |
| Silverado / Sierra 2500HD or 3500HD (any year) | Does NOT fit — different bed width |
| T1 Silverado / Sierra EV variants | Verify fitment before ordering — bed rail geometry may differ on EV-specific configurations |
| Silverado / Sierra with spray-in or drop-in bed liner | Liner removal recommended; installation over liner not recommended by Bedslide |
| Tonneau cover / truck cap | Confirm minimum 4.5" vertical clearance above bed floor before ordering |
K2 vs. T1 identification: If your Silverado or Sierra is a 2019 or newer model year, you have a T1. If it's a 2018 or older, you have K2 (or GMT900 for 2013 and earlier). The 2019 model year is the clean cutoff — no mid-year overlap. If you purchased a leftover 2018 unit in the 2019 calendar year, your truck is still K2.
Installation Notes
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate — manageable as a two-person installation.
Estimated time: 1 hour.
Tools required: Basic hand tools (socket set and wrench). See no-drill kit option below.
Installation method options:
- Standard bolt-in: Mounts to existing T1 bed rail anchor points using included hardware. No drilling required on most standard applications.
- No-drill factory mount kit (BSA-GM6878): Uses factory tie-down anchor points — zero holes in your bed. Compatible with 2019-present T1 Silverado / Sierra in both bed lengths. Must be purchased separately. Not compatible with Contractor tier (15-6848-CG / 15-6848-CGB).
Bed liner warning: Bedslide explicitly does not recommend installation over spray-in or drop-in bed liners. Liner thickness varies by brand and creates mounting inconsistency that can compromise alignment and long-term stability. Plan on liner removal before installation.
Two-person recommendation: At 73 lb, this platform is manageable but significantly easier to position and align with a second person during initial placement into the T1 bed.
Clearance check: Confirm at least 4.5 inches of vertical clearance if installing under a tonneau cover or truck cap. The WeatherDeck surface sits 4.5 inches above the bed floor. Measure before purchasing either product if sequencing the purchase.
Freight notice: This unit ships LTL freight. Residential delivery is included. OFAS will contact you after order placement to coordinate delivery scheduling. Inspect the unit for shipping damage before signing the delivery receipt — note any damage on the bill of lading before accepting.
Sold separately — companion hardware:
- T1 no-drill factory mount kit: BSA-GM6878 (covers both T1 bed lengths — 5.9-foot and 6.9-foot)
- BedBin storage organizers: compatible with this platform
- Additional D-Ring Tie-Down Kit (4-piece): one set included; spares available separately
Common Questions
Will this fit my 2021 Silverado 1500 Trail Boss with the short bed?
Yes — the Trail Boss is a T1 platform Silverado 1500. Confirm the short (5.8-foot) box configuration and you're good.
What's the difference between 10-6848-CLS and 10-6848-CLB?
Finish only. The 10-6848-CLS is silver. The 10-6848-CLB is black. All dimensions, capacity, bearings, and structural specifications are identical.
What's the difference between the Classic (this SKU) and the Contractor (15-6848-CG)?
Capacity and construction. The Classic is rated at 1,000 lb with two guide bearings. The Contractor tier is rated at 1,500 lb and uses a heavier-duty bearing configuration. The Contractor also does not accept the no-drill factory mount kit — the Classic does. If you're running tools and equipment under 1,000 lb evenly distributed, the Classic is the correct tier. If you're regularly loading close to or above that, step up to the Contractor.
Does the slide pull all the way past the tailgate?
No. The Classic operates at 75% (¾) extension. The platform extends well past the midpoint of the bed and gives you full reach from beside the tailgate — but does not travel completely past the tailgate plane. For full-extension capability, Bedslide offers the 1500 and HD tiers.
My 2019 Silverado has the short bed — does my cab style matter?
The T1 Silverado and Sierra short box is available across Regular, Double, and Crew Cab configurations and the 5.8-foot interior bed length is consistent across all three. Confirm the short box, not the cab style.
Can I install this over my spray-in liner?
Bedslide advises against it. Liner thickness varies by brand and application, which can affect mounting stability and alignment. Plan on liner removal before installation.
The Obsidian Take
The 10-6848-CLS is the correct Classic-tier entry point for T1 Silverado and Sierra 1500 owners running the short box who want a permanent cargo access solution without overbuilding for their use case. The T1's wider interior — 48 inches across — makes this a noticeably more usable platform than the compact-truck SKUs. That extra width matters when you're loading toolboxes, camping gear, or larger cargo that needs to sit side-by-side rather than stacked.
The important comparison here is Classic vs. Contractor, not silver vs. black. If your bed carries evenly distributed loads under 1,000 lb — tools, gear, recreational equipment, general contractor supply runs — the Classic is the right tier and the correct price point. If you're consistently loading near or above 1,000 lb or running heavy commercial equipment that stacks weight unevenly, the Contractor (15-6848-CG) is the correct answer and you shouldn't be on this page.
On finish: silver is the structural finish — it's the base steel treatment. Black costs more and presents differently. For trucks that live and work outdoors year-round, both hold up well, but buyers in coastal or high-humidity environments often prefer black for its coating process. Neither finish changes how the slide performs.
This SKU is for: 2019–2026 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500 T1 short-box owners who need a 1,000 lb bolt-in cargo access platform in silver and want the option of a no-drill installation using factory anchor points.
This SKU is NOT for: Anyone with a 2018 or earlier Silverado/Sierra (wrong platform), T1 owners with the 6.9-foot standard box (order 10-7848-CLS), anyone who needs full-extension travel past the tailgate, anyone running commercial loads above 1,000 lb (order the Contractor tier), or anyone expecting to keep their bed liner in place during installation.
