This slide fits the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.8-foot short bed. The 68-inch platform was developed for the redesigned T1-generation bed interior that debuted on the 2019 Silverado and Sierra — it does not fit any prior generation. If your truck is a 2018 or earlier model, the correct SKU is 15-6548-CG (65" x 48" silver).

Fitment is bed-length and generation dependent. The 2019+ Silverado/Sierra is also available with a 6.5-foot bed — that application takes 15-7848-CG (78" x 48" silver). Confirm your bed length before ordering.

• Do not use air impact tools on riv nuts — hand-install only.
• A second person is required for safe positioning and alignment at this platform size.
• MultiPro / MultiFlex tailgate owners must confirm step panel clearance before finalizing mount position.
• Bedliner presence requires removal or adjustment before install.

This is $287 less than the black version (15-6848-CGB). Why is silver cheaper?
Bedslide's published pricing shows the silver Contractor at $1,834 vs. the black Contractor at $2,121 for the same 68" x 48" platform and 1,500 lb capacity rating. The specs — bearings, deck, extension, warranty — are identical. The price difference reflects Bedslide's own pricing structure between finish variants. If budget is a consideration and black finish is not a requirement, the silver version delivers the same capacity at a confirmed lower cost.

I saw a no-drill kit for the 2019+ Silverado 5.8' bed — can I use it?
No. The BSA-GM68 no-drill kit for the 2019+ Silverado/Sierra 5.8' bed is explicitly rated for Classic (1,000 lb) and S-model Bedslides only — Bedslide's own product page states this restriction. It is not compatible with the Contractor tier regardless of finish. Drilling four ½-inch holes is required for 15-6848-CG. If avoiding bed drilling matters more than capacity, the Classic tier (10-6848-CLS silver, same platform) is no-drill kit compatible at 1,000 lb.

My Silverado is a 2018 — does anything fit it?
The 2018 and earlier Silverado/Sierra 5.5'/5.8' bed takes the 65" x 48" platform — SKU 15-6548-CG (silver). The 2019 generation redesign changed the bed interior, which is why these are different SKUs.

I have a Sierra with the MultiPro Tailgate. Does the silver version have any different clearance concerns than the black?
No — finish does not affect physical dimensions. Both versions sit at 4.5 inches above the bed floor. MultiPro Tailgate clearance is a platform concern, not a finish concern. BSA-SPACEBLKIT resolves clearance issues if the step panel contacts the slide when extended.

It is not for the buyer who wants to avoid drilling — the no-drill kit for this application is incompatible with the Contractor tier. If no-drill installation is a priority, the Classic tier (10-6848-CLS, same 68" x 48" platform, 1,000 lb, BSA-GM68 compatible) is the correct alternative. It is not for the 2018-or-earlier GM truck owner — that generation requires the 65" platform. And it is not for any buyer whose load requirements exceed 1,500 lb — no Heavy Duty option exists for the 68" x 48" platform.
