Fitment, Shipping & Product Support

The BDS 2100FS is a 6-inch radius arm front lift kit with FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD diesel — the DS-generation platform. Heavy-duty BDS radius arms replace the factory arms, correcting caster at lift height and reducing bushing bind. Diesel-tuned front coil springs deliver 6 inches of lift at the correct spring rate for the diesel engine weight. FOX 2.0 damping handles the added lift height and the towing demands of the 2500 diesel platform.

This kit has three hard fitment splits before it applies to your truck.

First — generation: the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 is the DS platform. The 2019 and newer Ram 2500 is the DT platform — a completely different front suspension architecture. If your Ram 2500 is a 2019 or newer, order 1680FS. The 2013 and earlier Ram 2500 is not compatible with this kit.

Second — engine: diesel-tuned coil springs. Ram 2500 gas requires a different kit — order 1763FPE for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD gas.

Third — drivetrain: 4WD only. Ram 2500 2WD is not compatible.

If you want FOX 2.5 Performance Elite shocks with external reservoir instead of FOX 2.0, order 2100FPE. If you need 4 inches of lift instead of 6, order 1762FPE (FOX 2.5 PE) or 1762FS (FOX 2.0).

Tire Clearance

At 6 inches of front lift on the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 diesel platform, typical fitment runs 37–40-inch tires depending on wheel offset and backspacing. Tires at the larger end of this range may require trimming or additional modifications. Confirm maximum tire diameter and wheel specifications with your wheel and tire supplier before ordering.

Installation Notes

Professional installation is required. A 6-inch radius arm lift on a diesel platform requires a qualified suspension shop with experience on heavy-duty truck platforms. Do not attempt DIY installation.

Full front-end alignment is mandatory after installation. Do not drive on public roads before alignment is completed. Running a lifted diesel truck without post-installation alignment causes accelerated tire wear, steering pull, and handling instability under tow.

Driveline inspection is mandatory at 6-inch lift. At 6 inches, inspect driveshaft angles and U-joint operating angles after installation. Driveshaft modification may be required depending on your specific truck's configuration — confirm with your installer before the job begins. On a diesel towing platform at this lift height, this inspection is not optional.

Torque all fasteners to BDS specification. Torque specs are included in the BDS installation instructions. Do not estimate torque values on a diesel-weight platform.

FOX shock break-in period. Allow FOX 2.0 shocks to complete the manufacturer-recommended break-in period before aggressive off-road or heavy towing use.

The Obsidian Take

The BDS 2100FS is the correct kit for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD diesel owner who wants maximum front lift — 6 inches — with corrected radius arm geometry and FOX 2.0 damping at the FOX 2.0 price point. Diesel-tuned springs, heavy-duty BDS radius arms, track bar correction — the complete front-end geometry package for the DS platform diesel at the top of the lift range, tuned for the engine weight and towing loads the 2500 diesel actually sees.

The jump from 4 inches to 6 inches on the DS diesel platform brings the tire window up to 37–40 inches and a more aggressive stance — but it also brings a mandatory driveline inspection that the 4-inch kits do not require. Confirm your installer is prepared for that step before the job begins.

If you want the FOX 2.5 Performance Elite upgrade — external reservoir, higher damping performance — order 2100FPE. The radius arm system and spring package are identical. The shock is the only variable and it is a meaningful one for serious off-road or sustained heavy towing use.

If you need 4 inches instead of 6, order 1762FS (FOX 2.0) or 1762FPE (FOX 2.5 PE). If your Ram 2500 is a 2019 or newer DT platform, order 1680FS. If it is gas, order 1763FPE.

DS platform, diesel, 4WD, 6 inches, FOX 2.0 — the 2100FS is the complete, correctly-tuned front-end solution at maximum DS lift height.

Common Questions

What is the difference between 2100FS and 2100FPE?
Both kits fit the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD diesel and deliver 6 inches of front lift with the same BDS radius arms, diesel-tuned springs, and track bar correction bracket. The only difference is the shock — 2100FS uses FOX 2.0 Performance Series and 2100FPE uses FOX 2.5 Performance Elite with external reservoir. For demanding off-road terrain and heavy sustained towing, the 2.5 PE is the stronger choice. For daily and moderate towing use, FOX 2.0 delivers meaningfully better damping than factory at a lower price point.

What is the difference between 2100FS and 1762FS?
Both kits fit the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD diesel with the same radius arm architecture. The difference is lift height — 2100FS delivers 6 inches and 1762FS delivers 4 inches. The 6-inch kit opens up 37–40-inch tire fitment and a more aggressive stance but requires a mandatory driveline inspection that the 4-inch kit does not.

Why can't I use this kit on my 2019 Ram 2500?
The 2019 and newer Ram 2500 is the DT platform — a completely different front suspension architecture from the 2014–2018 DS platform. The radius arm geometry, spring rates, and correction brackets are not interchangeable between platforms. Order 1680FS for the DT platform diesel.

Why can't I use diesel springs on my gas Ram 2500?
The diesel engine is significantly heavier than the gas engine. Front coil springs are tuned for a specific front axle weight — diesel-tuned springs under a gas engine deliver excessive spring rate and harsh ride. Order 1763FPE for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD gas.

What is the driveline inspection for and can I skip it?
At 6 inches of lift, driveshaft angles change significantly from factory. U-joints operating outside their designed angle range wear rapidly and can fail under heavy diesel towing load. The inspection confirms whether your driveshaft requires modification. On a diesel towing platform at 6-inch lift, this is not optional.

Does this kit lift the rear of the truck?
This kit addresses front lift via the radius arm upgrade. Rear lift components are not included. Confirm rear lift requirements with your installer before ordering if needed.

What warranty does this kit carry?
BDS suspension components carry the BDS No-Fine-Print Warranty. FOX 2.0 shocks carry a FOX 1-year limited warranty.
