Fitment, Shipping & Product Support
The BDS 1763FPE is a 4-inch radius arm front lift kit with FOX 2.5 Performance Elite external reservoir shocks for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD gas — the DS-generation platform. Heavy-duty BDS radius arms replace the factory arms, correcting caster at lift height and reducing bushing bind. Gas-tuned front coil springs deliver 4 inches of lift at the correct spring rate for the gas engine weight. FOX 2.5 PE external reservoir shocks deliver advanced valving and heat-managed damping for sustained off-road and towing performance at lifted height.
This kit has three hard fitment splits before it applies to your truck.
First — engine: gas-tuned coil springs. Ram 2500 diesel requires a different kit — order 1762FPE for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD diesel. Gas and diesel springs are not interchangeable.
Second — generation: the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 is the DS platform. The 2019 and newer Ram 2500 is the DT platform — a completely different front suspension architecture. If your Ram 2500 is a 2019 or newer, order 1699FPE. The 2013 and earlier Ram 2500 is not compatible.
Third — drivetrain: 4WD only. Ram 2500 2WD is not compatible.
For FOX 2.0 shocks at a lower price point on this same platform, text (469) 407-7538 to confirm the FOX 2.0 variant for the DS gas platform before ordering.

Tire Clearance
At 4 inches of front lift on the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 gas platform, typical fitment runs 35–37-inch tires depending on wheel offset and backspacing. Confirm maximum tire diameter and wheel specifications with your wheel and tire supplier before ordering.
Installation Notes
Professional installation is required. The radius arm lift requires a qualified suspension shop with experience on heavy-duty truck platforms. Do not attempt DIY installation.
Full front-end alignment is mandatory after installation. Do not drive on public roads before alignment is completed. Running a lifted truck without post-installation alignment causes accelerated tire wear, steering pull, and handling instability under load.
External reservoir routing. Follow BDS and FOX installation instructions for reservoir placement. Avoid pinch points, heat sources, and moving components during routing. Improper reservoir placement can damage the reservoir line and void the FOX warranty.
Torque all fasteners to BDS specification. Torque specs are included in the BDS installation instructions. Do not estimate torque values on a 2500-class platform.
FOX shock break-in period. Allow FOX 2.5 PE shocks to complete the manufacturer-recommended break-in period before aggressive off-road or heavy towing use.

The Obsidian Take
The BDS 1763FPE is the correct kit for the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD gas owner who wants 4 inches of front lift with corrected radius arm geometry and maximum shock performance. The FOX 2.5 PE external reservoir is the reason to choose this kit over a standard FOX 2.0 option — the reservoir separates the oil from the nitrogen gas charge, managing heat under sustained off-road terrain and towing loads so damping performance stays consistent where a standard shock body begins to fade. If your Ram 2500 sees repeated hard off-road use or sustained towing, the 2.5 PE earns its price difference.
If your use case is primarily daily driving and moderate weekend use, a FOX 2.0 option delivers meaningfully better damping than factory at a lower price point — text (469) 407-7538 to confirm the correct FOX 2.0 variant for the DS gas platform before committing to the 2.5 PE.
If your Ram 2500 is diesel, gas-tuned springs are the wrong rate for the heavier diesel engine weight — order 1762FPE. If it is a 2019 or newer DT platform, the DS geometry does not apply — order 1699FPE. If it is a Ram 3500 or Ram 1500, this kit does not apply.
DS platform, gas, 4WD, 4 inches, FOX 2.5 PE — the 1763FPE is the complete, correctly-tuned front-end solution for the Ram 2500 gas owner who wants premium shock performance at this lift height on the DS platform.
Common Questions
What is the difference between 1763FPE and 1762FPE?
Both kits fit the 2014–2018 Ram 2500 4WD and deliver 4 inches of front lift with the same BDS radius arm architecture and track bar correction bracket. The difference is the spring tune and shock specification — 1763FPE uses gas-tuned springs and FOX 2.5 PE shocks for the gas platform. 1762FPE uses diesel-tuned springs and FOX 2.5 PE shocks for the heavier diesel engine weight. Gas and diesel springs are not interchangeable.
Why can't I use this kit on my 2019 Ram 2500?
The 2019 and newer Ram 2500 is the DT platform — completely different front suspension architecture from the 2014–2018 DS platform. The radius arm geometry, spring rates, and correction brackets are not interchangeable between platforms. Order 1699FPE for the DT platform gas with FOX 2.5 PE.
Why can't I use diesel springs on my gas Ram 2500?
The diesel engine is significantly heavier than the gas engine. Front coil springs are tuned for a specific front axle weight — diesel-tuned springs under a gas engine deliver excessive spring rate and harsh ride. Gas springs under a diesel engine sag and compromise geometry under load. The correct spring tune for your engine is not interchangeable.
Does this kit lift the rear of the truck?
This kit addresses front lift via the radius arm upgrade. Rear lift components are not included. Confirm rear lift requirements with your installer before ordering if needed.
Is this a DIY install?
No. The radius arm lift requires a qualified suspension shop. This is not a leveling kit — professional installation is required.
What warranty does this kit carry?
BDS suspension components carry the BDS No-Fine-Print Warranty. FOX 2.5 PE shocks carry a FOX 1-year limited warranty.
