The Baja Designs S8 Amber (704013) is a 40-inch full amber LED light bar built for dust, fog, sand, and rain — environments where white light scatters back off airborne particulate and reduces effective visibility rather than extending it. Every primary LED in this bar outputs amber. There is no white output, no clear backlight, no mixed-spectrum operation. The amber lens filters the blue wavelengths responsible for scatter-back, delivering sharper contrast, better depth perception, and usable forward throw at speed in conditions that defeat a clear bar.
This is not the S8 with an amber backlight accent strip. The S8 Clear with Amber Backlight runs white primary LEDs with a secondary amber running light strip — maximum white output in clear conditions with amber accent. This bar is full amber output across every primary LED. If your primary environment is clear conditions and you want maximum white output, that is the correct bar, not this one.
The driving/combo pattern delivers long-range forward projection with lateral spread — more forward reach than a pure wide pattern, purpose-built for desert running, dusty trail, and low-visibility environments where both distance and peripheral coverage matter simultaneously.

Installation Notes
Measure your mounting location before ordering. The S8 is 40 inches long. Confirm your roof rack, bumper, or chase rack opening accommodates the full bar length and S8 mounting tab spacing before purchasing. A 40-inch bar cannot be returned once mounting holes are drilled — measure first.
Mounting brackets are required and not included. Order vehicle-specific or universal S8 mounting brackets separately. Confirm bracket compatibility with S8 mounting tab dimensions before purchasing.
