| Lifts exceeding 4" | Track bar relocation bracket strongly recommended; verify pitman arm drop compatibility |
| Ninja washers installation | Installation manual does not clearly indicate where to install ninja washers during assembly — install with flat side to bar, tabs to lock nut, Apex logo facing outward; set screw sequence addressed at the end of the instructions |
Common Questions
Will this fix death wobble on my Ram 2500 or 3500 Cummins?
It eliminates the flex, joint slop, and adjusting sleeve rotation that heavily contribute to death wobble. The 2" 7075-T6 rod, ProLock system, and internal Flopper Stoppers remove the slop that allows wobble to develop. When paired with healthy ball joints, a solid track bar, and a proper alignment, it completely addresses the front tracking. If your tie rod is also OEM, the KIT385-POL complete kit addresses both ends in one session with one alignment fee.
What are the Flopper Stoppers?
Metal-to-metal bearing restrictors built directly inside the forged steel housing — 27° of left/right steering travel with only 2° of front-to-back deflection. No wearable rubber parts or external hardware. The restriction is built into the structure.
Can I flip this drag link on a high-clearance lift setup?
Yes. The straight-bored stabilizer hole and included reversible stainless steel taper sleeve allow you to flip the link geometry at the pitman arm without losing the stabilizer mounting point. No fabrication required.
I have a Carli high mount stabilizer on a 2016 Ram — do I need to change anything?
Yes. To run this drag link with a Carli high mount or dual opposing stabilizer, you must use the 2019+ Carli high mount regardless of your truck's model year. This applies to all 2014–2018 trucks.
What does the minimum engagement mark mean?
A laser-etched safety reference line on the drag link threads. After adjusting the sleeve, this mark must remain hidden inside the sleeve. If it's visible, thread engagement is unsafe — redistribute the sleeve between the two ends, or the truck may need a flip kit.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT387-POL is for the lifted Ram HD owner who wants the steering fixed and wants the polished finish to match the build. The 2" 7075-T6 rod is the correct spec for the Ram radius-arm platform's clearance envelope. ProLock adjustment retention, internal Flopper Stoppers, and the reversible taper sleeve for flip applications make this a complete solution rather than a basic upgrade.
If the polished finish requires more upkeep than a working truck justifies, the KIT387-BLK is the same rod material in black anodized. For maximum rigidity under sustained extreme off-road impact with zero flex memory, the KIT387-STL steel variant is the call. If your tie rod is also OEM, order KIT385-POL and correct both in one session.
Confirm three things before ordering: 2013 Ram 2500 does not fit, Ram 3500 DRW requires a different SKU, and if you're running a BDS adjustable trackbar or Rough Country dual stabilizer, those are hard incompatibilities.
Non-Returnable Notice: Steering components that have been installed are non-returnable. Confirm model year, SRW vs. DRW, trackbar and stabilizer configuration before ordering.
