No-Flip vs. Flip Kit β Choose the Correct Configuration
| Configuration | SKU | Mount | Lift Range | Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No-flip (this listing) | KIT150-NoFlip | Under knuckle (standard) | Approximately 3.5" or less | OEM knuckles, mild aftermarket knuckles without high-steer conversion |
| Flip kit | KIT150-Flip | Over knuckle | Lifts exceeding 3.5" and all high-steer conversions | High-steer knuckles (Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy); taller lifts |
Flip kit taper sleeves require drilling the knuckle drag link mount with a straight 7/8" drill bit during installation.

Critical Compatibility
| Configuration | Notes |
|---|---|
| High-steer knuckle conversions (Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy, etc.) | Does not fit β incorrect drag link angle; order flip kit variant |
| Factory JK 17" wheels (~6.25" backspacing) | Will NOT clear β inner barrel contacts joint housings; 4.75" or less backspacing required |
| AEV or stock Rubicon wheels | 1.5" wheel spacer required |
| Track bar relocation bolt | Not compatible with 1-ton kits due to clearance issues |
| Steering stabilizer bracket | Not included β select separately; relocation kit XP107 may be required |
| Lifts exceeding 3.5" | No-flip configuration is not designed for lifts above this threshold β use flip kit variant |
| 2018 Wrangler JL | Does not fit β confirm your 2018 is a JK/JKU, not JL, before ordering |
Common Questions
What is the difference between no-flip and flip kit?
The no-flip kit retains the factory under-knuckle drag link mounting position β designed for OEM or mild aftermarket knuckles on lifts of approximately 3.5" or less. The flip kit mounts the drag link over the top of the knuckle, correcting steering angles for taller lifts and high-steer knuckle conversions. Installing the no-flip kit on a high-steer knuckle or a lift beyond its range produces incorrect geometry.
Will this work with my factory JK 17" wheels?
No. Factory JK 17" wheels run approximately 6.25" backspacing β the joint housings will contact the inner wheel barrel. Aftermarket wheels with 4.75" or less backspacing are required. AEV and stock Rubicon wheels need a 1.5" spacer.
Is the steering stabilizer bracket included?
No. It must be selected separately based on your specific stabilizer setup. If your current stabilizer needs to be relocated for clearance, the Apex XP107 relocation kit addresses this.
Can I use a track bar relocation bolt with this kit?
No. The track bar relocation bolt is not compatible with 1-ton kits due to clearance issues.
What's different about the DOM steel version (KIT145)?
KIT145 uses 1.5" DOM SAE 1020 steel tubing instead of aluminum β maximum rigidity under direct rock contact with no flex memory. Correct for builds that regularly make contact with rock faces and boulders. For most lifted JK owners who aren't rock crawling at that level, the aluminum KIT150 delivers the same steering correction at reduced weight.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT150-NoFlip is for the 2007β2018 JK or JKU owner who has done the lift, put real tires under it, and needs the steering to match β on OEM or mild aftermarket knuckles without a high-steer conversion, at lifts of 3.5" or less. Black anodized aluminum adjusting sleeves, rebuildable forged steel ends, ProLock adjustment, zero-maintenance finish.
Three hard checks before ordering. First β confirm lift height is 3.5" or less; taller lifts need the flip kit variant. Second β confirm wheel backspacing is 4.75" or less; factory JK 17" wheels won't clear. Third β select a steering stabilizer bracket separately; it is not included. Outside those three checks, this installs in a single session with one alignment fee.
For rock crawling builds where the tie rod will make sustained direct contact with boulders, the DOM steel KIT145 is the correct call. For everything else, KIT150 is the right kit.
Non-Returnable Notice: Steering components that have been installed are non-returnable. Confirm knuckle type, lift height, wheel backspacing, and stabilizer configuration before ordering.
