Description
The build standard applies underneath too.
You lifted your JL or Gladiator with intention. The wheels, the tires, the bumper, the lights — every component chosen because it belongs on a build at this level. The factory steering linkage is stamped steel engineered for narrow stock tires. It doesn't belong on a build that has come this far.
The Apex Chassis KIT125-Dana30-NoFlip is the correction — and the one you choose when what's underneath matters as much as what's on top. Premium 1.5" solid 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, overbuilt 1-ton joint housings, and the full ProLock system — engineered specifically for the standard-track Dana 30 front axle on the 2018–2026 JL/JLU and 2019–2026 Gladiator JT at 2–6" of lift. At 32.8 lbs — 15.1 lbs lighter than the steel version — mirror-polished finish that doesn't hide behind a coating.

Why 1.5" diameter instead of 1.75" like the Dana 44 kits: The clearance envelope around the steering stabilizer brackets and lower frame rails on the narrow standard-track Dana 30 axle is significantly tighter than on wide-track Dana 44 axles. A 1.75" or 2" bar physically contacts the tracking brackets during tight steering lock cycles on this platform. The solid 1.5" 7075-T6 rod delivers the exact structural yield strength needed while clearing the narrow axle architecture correctly.
Why polished aluminum over steel on a trail build: At 32.8 lbs — 15.1 lbs lighter than the steel version — the unsprung weight savings are substantial and directly measurable. Less unsprung mass means suspension dampers respond faster to road imperfections, improving pavement tracking and ride quality on 35" or 37" tire packages. The lighter rotational load also protects the factory EHPS power steering motor from the heat fatigue that heavy steel linkage causes over time. 7075-T6 features natural flex memory — it absorbs harsh trail vibration and springs back to its original tracking profile without taking permanent flat spots.
KIT125-Dana30-NoFlip vs KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip — which one: Same Dana 30 platform, same no-flip geometry, same ProLock system. The KIT125 is solid 7075-T6 aluminum at 32.8 lbs — reduced unsprung weight, mirror finish, the right call for street, trail, and performance builds. The KIT115 is heavy-wall DOM steel at 47.9 lbs — maximum impact resistance for dedicated rock crawling where the linkage takes direct hits against boulder faces. Text (469) 407-7538 with your intended use and we'll confirm the right one.

2024–2026 Willys lockout: Jeep upgraded the Willys trim to the wide-track Dana 44 starting in 2024. If your Willys is 2024, 2025, or 2026 — this kit will not fit. Order KIT115-Dana44-NoFlip instead.
⚠️ Gladiator Max-Tow lockout: Gladiator Sport models with the factory Max-Tow package run the wide-track Dana 44. Check your build sheet or window sticker — or text us your VIN and we'll confirm before you order.
⚠️ Wheel clearance — hard requirement: The 1-ton joint housings require a minimum 17" wheel with 4.75" or less backspacing. Factory Sport 17" wheels run approximately 6.0" backspacing and will contact the joint housings at full steering lock. Low-offset aftermarket wheels or quality wheel spacers required. Text (469) 407-7538 with your wheel brand, model, and backspacing and we'll confirm clearance.
⚠️ Axle identification: Not sure if your JL or Gladiator has the Dana 30 or Dana 44? Sport and Sport S trims are generally Dana 30. Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe, Mojave, 2024+ Willys, and Max-Tow Gladiators are Dana 44. Text us your VIN and we'll confirm in minutes.
Supporting mod requirements:
- Lifts 2–3": Direct bolt-on beyond wheel backspacing requirement.
- Lifts exceeding 3": Adjustable control arms or caster correction kit recommended to restore factory caster angle.
Before You Buy — Questions We Get Asked
Q: What's the difference between KIT125-Dana30-NoFlip and KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip?
Same Dana 30 platform, same standard no-flip geometry, same ProLock system. The KIT125 is 1.5" solid 7075-T6 aluminum at 32.8 lbs — 15.1 lbs lighter than the steel version, reduced unsprung weight, mirror finish, optimized for street, trail, and performance builds where steering compliance and build aesthetics are the priority. The KIT115 is heavy-wall DOM steel at 47.9 lbs — maximum impact resistance for dedicated rock crawling and direct boulder contact. For serious rock crawl, steel. For everything else, aluminum wins on weight and performance.
Q: Will this clear my factory Sport 17" wheels?
No. Factory Sport 17" wheels run approximately 6.0" backspacing — the inner barrel will contact the 1-ton joint housings at full steering lock. You need aftermarket wheels at 4.75" or less backspacing, or quality wheel spacers. Text (469) 407-7538 with your wheel specs and we'll confirm clearance.
Q: Does this fit my 2025 Willys?
No. Jeep upgraded the Willys trim to the wide-track Dana 44 starting in 2024. Your 2025 Willys has a Dana 44 — order KIT115-Dana44-NoFlip instead.
Q: Does the polished finish require maintenance?
Raw 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum — not chrome plating, not a coating. It will not rust, chip, or peel. Over time it develops a natural aluminum patina. A quick pass with standard aluminum polish restores the mirror shine instantly. For a working Jeep that sees road salt and weather year-round, the KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip in DOM steel is the lower-maintenance call.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT125-Dana30-NoFlip is for the JL Sport and Gladiator JT owner who built the truck to a standard and wants every component underneath to reflect it. The 1.5" solid 7075-T6 construction is the correct diameter for the Dana 30 clearance envelope — 1.75" or 2" bars contact the tracking brackets at full steering lock on this narrow platform, and Apex engineered exactly to what the geometry requires. At 32.8 lbs it is 15.1 lbs lighter than the steel version — faster suspension response, improved pavement tracking on heavy tire packages, and meaningfully reduced rotational load on the factory EHPS motor. The ProLock system physically locks alignment under sustained trail loads and highway washboards. The raw mirror-polished 7075-T6 finish restores instantly with a pass of aluminum polish and reflects the standard of the rest of the build every time someone gets underneath.
This kit is not for Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe, or Mojave owners — those trims run the Dana 44 and require KIT115-Dana44-NoFlip. It is not for 2024 or newer Willys owners — Jeep upgraded the Willys to the Dana 44 in 2024. It is not for Gladiator Sport owners with the factory Max-Tow package — that package includes the Dana 44. It is not for builders running high-steer knuckle conversions on the Dana 30 — the flip kit variant is required. It is not for dedicated rock crawlers who will take direct boulder impacts against the linkage — the KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip in DOM steel is the correct tool for that application. And factory Sport 17" wheels will not clear the joint housings — verify your wheel backspacing is 4.75" or less before ordering.
