Description
-
You flipped your high-steer knuckles. Now finish the geometry correction.
Aftermarket high-steer knuckles give you the ground clearance the build demanded. What they also did was shatter the parallel relationship between your drag link and track bar. Standard drag links run in a low-mount layout — on flipped high-steer knuckles that geometry produces severe bump steer and disconnected tracking that gets worse with every suspension compression cycle.
The Apex Chassis KIT120-Dana30-YesFlip is the engineered correction. A complete 2.5-ton black anodized aluminum tie rod and drag link assembly with flip-geometry drag link placement — purpose-built for Dana 30 front axles on the 2018–2026 JL/JLU and 2019–2026 Gladiator JT running aftermarket high-steer knuckle conversions at 2–6" of lift. Geometry restored. Bump steer eliminated. 47 lbs.

Apex specifically engineers the rod clearance profiles on this kit to sweep cleanly past the Dana 30 housing geometry during full lock-to-lock steering cycles. A Dana 44 kit will not clear correctly on this axle — and vice versa. Confirm your axle before ordering.
Why flipped geometry requires the track bar relocation bracket: When you flip the drag link to the top of the knuckle, its operating angle rises. For the drag link and track bar to remain parallel and prevent geometry-induced bump steer, the track bar mount must also be raised on the axle side with a relocation bracket. In almost all high-steer flip scenarios this bracket is required alongside this kit.
✅ This kit fits — Dana 30 with high-steer knuckle conversion required

Vehicle / Configuration Reason Correct Unit Dana 44 front axles Rubicon, Sahara, 4xe, Mojave — different housing geometry KIT120-Dana44-YesFlip OEM or standard knuckles without high-steer conversion This is a YesFlip kit — standard knuckles will produce reversed, unsafe geometry KIT120-Dana30-NoFlip 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK / JKU Different track width and taper profiles KIT130 / KIT150 series ⚠️ High-steer knuckle requirement — no exceptions: This kit mounts the drag link from the top down on an aftermarket high-steer knuckle. Installing on factory OEM knuckles creates highly unstable reversed steering geometry that is unsafe for operation. If you have standard knuckles — order KIT120-Dana30-NoFlip. Double-check your knuckle configuration before installation.
⚠️ Dana 44 lockout: If your JL or Gladiator is a Rubicon, Sahara, or 4xe — you have the Dana 44, not the Dana 30. This kit will not clear the Dana 44 housing geometry correctly. See KIT120-Dana44-YesFlip.
⚠️ Track bar relocation bracket — strongly recommended: In almost all high-steer flip scenarios a track bar relocation bracket is required alongside this kit to keep the drag link and track bar on parallel operating planes. Verify your track bar clearance during full steering cycling before installation.
⚠️ Camber note for alignment shop: The JL/JT Dana 30 is a solid front axle where factory camber is entirely fixed and non-adjustable. Post-install alignment corrects toe and centers the steering wheel — camber remains fixed.
Supporting mod requirements:
- Lifts 2–3": Verify frame-to-linkage clearances at full compression bump stop engagement before installing.
- Lifts exceeding 3": Adjustable control arms or control arm drop brackets strongly recommended to restore correct caster. Track bar relocation bracket strongly recommended to maintain parallel operating planes.
Before You Buy — Questions We Get Asked
Q: Will this kit work with my stock JL or Gladiator knuckles?
No. This is a YesFlip high-steer kit — the drag link is designed to mount from the top down on an aftermarket high-steer knuckle. If you have factory knuckles, you need the standard geometry variant: KIT120-Dana30-NoFlip. Installing this kit on factory knuckles creates reversed, unsafe steering geometry. Confirm your knuckle configuration before ordering.
Q: Why Dana 30 specific instead of fitting all JL models?
The Dana 30 axle has different structural dimensions around the differential center section and casting ears compared to the larger Dana 44 on Rubicon, Sahara, and 4xe models. Apex engineers the rod clearance profiles specifically to sweep cleanly past the Dana 30 housing during full lock-to-lock cycling. The Dana 44 kit clears a different geometry — confirm your axle before ordering. Text us your VIN and we'll verify in minutes.
Q: Do I need a track bar relocation bracket with this kit?
Yes, in almost all scenarios. When you flip the drag link above the knuckle, its operating angle rises. To prevent geometry-induced bump steer, your track bar mount must also be raised on the axle side so the track bar and drag link remain parallel. Order the relocation bracket alongside this kit — don't wait until the install is complete to discover you need it.
Q: How hard is this install and what will I need?
Intermediate difficulty. Standard hand tools, a torque wrench, and a floor jack are required. A full front-end toe alignment immediately after is mandatory — do not drive at highway speeds until alignment is complete. For lifts over 3", plan for adjustable control arms or caster correction alongside this install. Budget one garage session and one same-day alignment appointment.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT120-Dana30-YesFlip is for the JL Sport and Gladiator JT owner who installed high-steer knuckles, gained the ground clearance the build demanded, and now needs the steering geometry corrected to match. The flip-geometry drag link restores the parallel relationship between the drag link and track bar that the high-steer conversion disrupted — eliminating the bump steer and tracking instability that standard drag link geometry produces on flipped knuckles. The heavy-duty aluminum alloy construction with 2.5-ton high-misalignment phosphate-coated rod ends handles full suspension articulation without binding. The black anodized finish seals the aluminum against road salt and trail moisture year-round without a maintenance schedule. At 47 lbs it is a direct replacement for the factory linkage — one alignment appointment and the geometry is corrected.
This kit is not for standard OEM knuckle builds — installing on factory knuckles creates reversed, unsafe steering geometry. Order KIT120-Dana30-NoFlip for standard knuckle applications. It is not for Dana 44 equipped trims — Rubicon, Sahara, 4xe, and Mojave require the Dana 44 flip kit variant, see KIT120-Dana44-YesFlip. A track bar relocation bracket is required alongside this kit in almost all high-steer flip scenarios — plan for it before installation day. If the mirror finish matters more than zero maintenance, the mechanically equivalent KIT125-Dana30-YesFlip in polished aluminum is the right call. Text (469) 407-7538 with your year, knuckle brand, lift height, and current track bar setup and we'll verify geometry compatibility before we ship.
