Description
You flipped your knuckles. Now finish the job.
A high-steer knuckle conversion is one of the most impactful steering upgrades you can make on a lifted JL or Gladiator. Moving the drag link mounting point from below the knuckle to the top eliminates the geometry conflict that causes bump steer on aggressive lifts. But a high-steer conversion without a flip-geometry drag link is a half-finished job. The standard no-flip drag link still mounts in the factory lower position — on a flipped knuckle that angle produces incorrect geometry and introduces the exact bump steer you converted to eliminate.
The Apex Chassis KIT115-Dana30-YesFlip is the complete solution. A 2.5-ton heavy-wall DOM steel tie rod and drag link assembly engineered specifically for the Dana 30 front axle on the 2018–2026 JL/JLU and 2019–2026 Gladiator JT with high-steer knuckle conversions. One kit. Both components. Built for what your build is actually doing.

Why the flip geometry matters: The no-flip standard drag link mounts in the factory lower knuckle position. On a flipped high-steer knuckle, that lower-mount angle produces incorrect drag link geometry and introduces the bump steer the conversion was designed to eliminate. The YesFlip drag link is engineered for the top-mounted knuckle position — matching the geometry of the conversion so the steering track works correctly instead of against the build.
Why heavy-wall DOM tube instead of solid bar on the Dana 30: The standard-track Dana 30 knuckle castings are smaller and more fragile than Dana 44 knuckles. A fully solid steel bar creates excessive leverage that can cause structural knuckle failure during a hard trail hit. The 1.5" heavy-wall DOM tube eliminates the internal weld seam and produces a uniform wall thickness — delivering 2.5-ton yield strength at 47.9 lbs while protecting the Dana 30 knuckle castings.

High-steer conversion required — no exceptions: This kit is engineered exclusively for Dana 30 builds with a high-steer knuckle conversion already installed. Installing this flip kit on OEM or mild aftermarket knuckles without a high-steer conversion will result in incorrect drag link angle and unsafe steering geometry. If you have standard or mild aftermarket knuckles — order KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip.
⚠️ 2024–2026 Willys and Gladiator Max-Tow lockout: These trims run the wide-track Dana 44 from the factory. This kit will not fit. Contact us for the correct Dana 44 flip kit variant.
⚠️ Wheel clearance — hard requirement: The 2.5-ton joint housings require a minimum 17" wheel with 4.75" or less backspacing. Factory Sport 17" wheels run approximately 6.0" backspacing and will contact the joint housings. Aftermarket wheels or quality wheel spacers required.
⚠️ High-steer system verification: Text (469) 407-7538 with your high-steer knuckle brand and model, year, trim, and lift height before ordering. We verify the flip kit geometry matches your specific conversion before we ship.
Before You Buy — Questions We Get Asked
Q: What's the difference between KIT115-Dana30-YesFlip and KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip?
Same Dana 30 platform, same 2.5-ton heavy-wall DOM steel construction, same weight. The difference is drag link geometry. The NoFlip kit is engineered for the factory lower knuckle mounting position — OEM and mild aftermarket knuckles without a high-steer conversion. The YesFlip kit is engineered for the top-mounted knuckle position that a high-steer conversion creates. Installing the wrong geometry version produces incorrect drag link angles and unsafe steering. Confirm your knuckle configuration before ordering — or text us your setup and we'll confirm the right kit.
Q: Which high-steer knuckle brands is this compatible with?
Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy, and equivalent high-steer knuckle systems that move the drag link mounting point to the top of the knuckle. Text (469) 407-7538 with your specific high-steer brand, model, and lift height and we'll confirm compatibility before your order ships.
Q: Does this fit my Gladiator Rubicon with high-steer knuckles?
No — the Gladiator Rubicon runs the Dana 44. This kit is Dana 30 specific. Contact us for the correct Dana 44 flip kit variant for your Rubicon.
Q: How hard is this install and what will I need?
Advanced difficulty — this is not a standard intermediate install. High-steer flip kit geometry requires understanding of how the drag link interfaces with the top-mounted knuckle position. Professional installation and alignment are not optional. Before installation, verify the drag link angle and sweep are correct for your specific high-steer knuckle brand and lift height. Caster correction is strongly recommended on aggressive lifts with high-steer conversions. Budget a full shop session and a post-install alignment appointment — and text us before installation if you need geometry confirmation.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT115-Dana30-YesFlip exists for one specific builder — someone who has already installed a high-steer knuckle conversion on their Dana 30 JL or Gladiator and understands that the steering linkage has to match the geometry of the conversion to function correctly. The flip-geometry drag link corrects the drag link sweep to work with the top-mounted knuckle position — eliminating the bump steer the standard no-flip drag link would introduce on a flipped knuckle. The 1.5" heavy-wall DOM steel construction delivers 2.5-ton yield strength while protecting the Dana 30 knuckle castings from the excessive leverage a fully solid bar creates. The ProLock system locks alignment on washboards and under trail articulation loads. At 47.9 lbs and advanced-difficulty installation, this is a purpose-built kit for a purpose-built rig — not an entry-level lift upgrade.
This kit is not for OEM or mild aftermarket knuckle builds — if you haven't done a high-steer conversion, order KIT115-Dana30-NoFlip. It is not for Dana 44 equipped trims — Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe, Mojave, 2024+ Willys, and Max-Tow Gladiators require a Dana 44 flip kit variant. It is not for factory wheel owners — the joint housings will not clear. And because the correct drag link angle depends on your specific high-steer brand and lift height, text (469) 407-7538 with your complete setup before ordering — we verify the geometry matches before we ship.
