Description
The sPOD Ethernet Control Cable (SKU 910030) is the 5-foot mid-length cable that connects sPOD power modules to switch interfaces — compatible with BantamX, SourceLT, Mini6, and Mini4 systems. Use when 3 feet falls short of your routing path and 10 feet creates more slack than your install warrants. The right cable for under-hood to in-cab runs in compact and mid-size vehicles. Cable only — power module and switch panel not included.

sPOD Ethernet Cable Lineup — Choose Your Length
| SKU | Length | Best For | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 910010 | 1 foot | Truly co-located — components within 1 foot with straight connector exit | $7.00 |
| 910025 | 3 feet | Short routing — components close with minor routing path or bend radius requirements | $12.00 |
| 910030 (this listing) | 5 feet | Mid-length routing — under-hood to in-cab in compact and mid-size vehicles | $19.00 |
| 910000 | 10 feet | Standard reach — most full-size truck and Jeep under-dash routing paths | $29.00 |
| 910005 | 15 feet | Extended routing — complex firewall runs, rear control interfaces | $35.00 |
| 910015 | 25 feet | Long-distance routing — full-size trucks, vans, overland rigs | $45.00 |
| 910020 | 30 feet | Maximum-reach routing — trailers, full-length van builds, extreme layouts | $59.95 |
The 5-foot cable fills the gap between the 3-foot short-routing cable and the 10-foot standard cable. Choose it when your routing path is between 3 and 5 feet after accounting for actual cable routing — not straight-line component distance.
When You Need This Cable
| Situation | Notes |
|---|---|
| Compact or mid-size vehicle under-hood to in-cab routing | Module firewall or inner fender mounted, panel within close dash reach — 5 feet routes cleanly with minimal excess |
| UTV build where module and panel are adjacent but require routing through a panel or bulkhead | Routed path adds length beyond straight-line distance — 5 feet covers most compact UTV routing scenarios |
| Replacing a standard kit cable in a compact vehicle where 10 feet was too long | Direct replacement at correct length |
| Under-dash or console install where 10 feet creates excess bundling | 5 feet routes clean without unnecessary slack management |
Critical Compatibility
| Configuration | Notes |
|---|---|
| sPOD BantamX — all variants | Compatible |
| sPOD SourceLT — all variants | Compatible |
| sPOD Mini6 interface | Compatible |
| sPOD Mini4 interface | Compatible |
| sPOD HD switch panel | Compatible |
| sPOD touchscreen | Compatible |
| Non-sPOD power management systems | Not confirmed — designed for the sPOD RJ45 CAT-6 controller interface |
| Routing path exceeding 5 feet | Order 910000 (10-foot) — a strained cable fails at the connector over time |
Common Questions
How do I know if 5 feet covers my routing path or if I need 10 feet? Measure the actual routed path — not straight-line distance between the module and the switch interface. Run a tape measure through the same path the cable will take: through the firewall grommet, along the routing channel, to the switch panel location. In a compact truck or SUV this is typically 4–7 feet. In a full-size truck with complex routing, it can exceed 10 feet. When the measurement is close to 5 feet, order the 10-foot cable — managing a few extra feet of slack is far less problematic than a cable that comes up short mid-install.
Can I use a standard 5-foot CAT-6 patch cable? The RJ45 CAT-6 spec is standard but the sPOD cable uses reinforced, weather-resistant construction rated for vibration, temperature swing, and moisture in off-road environments. A commercial patch cable will fail prematurely under those conditions.
The Obsidian Take
The 910030 is for the builder who measured their routing path, confirmed it falls between 3 and 5 feet, and wants a clean install without bundling half a 10-foot cable. Mid-length, right-sized, no excess. If your path is close to 5 feet, order the 10-foot — the $10 difference is not worth the risk of coming up short.
