The weight difference reflects the full steel construction of the JL/JT variant, which provides greater structural integrity for moderate to aggressive trail use at the cost of additional unsprung and front-axle weight. The JL/JT platform's front suspension and steering geometry are engineered to handle the additional weight of a steel bumper, but the impact on front-end handling, steering feel, and suspension geometry should be considered, particularly on builds with significant lift or modified front-end components. The 4" light pockets in the main shell retain the factory JL/JT fog light position. Wing-mounted 4" light mounts accept aftermarket auxiliary lights outboard of the factory fog light location.
