The Result

• Stubby profile — no wings. Narrower than the mid-width Appalachian (FB-F-310-JK), improving approach angle and reducing the bumper's outboard footprint for tighter trail clearance. Factory fog light pockets and D-ring mounts are retained in the main shell.
• Integrated winch plate with steel winch plate and tow hook attachments — winch and recovery loads transfer through steel hardware to the frame-mounted steel inner structure. Verify winch footprint compatibility before ordering.
• Removable bull bar — accepts a 20" light bar. Can be removed for maximum approach angle or run for lighting capability. Removal does not affect the main bumper shell or recovery points.

The Appalachian Stubby uses the same composite construction as the mid-width variant: aluminum outer shell for weight reduction, steel inner structure frame-mounted for load transfer. The key distinction is the absence of wings — the stubby configuration removes the outboard wing sections entirely, which reduces the overall bumper width, improves the approach angle by eliminating the outboard protrusion, and reduces weight to 67 lbs vs. 73 lbs for the mid-width. The winch plate and tow hook point attachments are steel, which is the correct specification for these load-bearing components — winch pull loads and recovery forces must transfer through steel hardware to the frame, not through the aluminum shell. The 4" light pockets in the main shell retain the factory JK fog light position. The bull bar accepts a 20" light bar and is removable independently of the main shell.
