Description
Apex Chassis Heavy Duty Drag Link | Black Powdercoat Aluminum | 2005–2016 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 4WD
The Apex Chassis KIT371-BLK-JJSP is a heavy-duty replacement drag link assembly engineered for the 2005–2016 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD platform. Constructed from 6061 aluminum alloy with a black powdercoat finish, this assembly eliminates the flex and deflection inherent in OEM drag links under high-load steering inputs. Designed for lifted applications where OEM drag link geometry produces bump steer and premature joint wear. Includes high-misalignment joints to accommodate increased suspension travel on lifted builds.
Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
- Ford F-250 Super Duty 4WD: 2005–2016
- Ford F-350 Super Duty 4WD SRW: 2005–2016
Does NOT fit: 2WD F-250/F-350 (no front axle/drag link configuration). Does not fit 2017–2026 Super Duty (P558/P702 — different steering geometry). Does not fit F-450 or F-550. Confirm 4WD configuration before ordering.
Technical Specifications
- Part Number: KIT371-BLK-JJSP
- Material: 6061 Aluminum Alloy
- Finish: Black Powdercoat
- Weight: 22 lbs
- Joint Type: High-misalignment ends
- Application: Lifted 4WD builds — compatible with 2–6" lift range
Installation Notes
- Alignment required: Full front-end alignment (caster, camber, toe) mandatory after installation. Drag link replacement directly affects toe and caster settings.
- Torque specs: Drag link end jam nuts — torque to manufacturer specification (verify in AMP/Apex install sheet). Castellated nuts at knuckle and pitman arm — torque to 70–90 ft-lbs and install cotter pin.
- Lift requirement: Designed for 2–6" lifted applications. On stock-height trucks, verify drag link angle does not create excessive bump steer before installation.
- Supporting mods: A track bar relocation bracket is recommended on lifts exceeding 4" to maintain proper front axle centering and reduce scrub radius deviation.
- Pitman arm: Verify OEM pitman arm drop is compatible with this drag link geometry. An aftermarket dropped pitman arm may be required on lifts over 4".
Installation Warning
Drag link replacement directly affects steering geometry, scrub radius, and bump steer characteristics. Do not drive the vehicle until a full front-end alignment has been completed by a qualified alignment technician. Improper installation or failure to align after installation can result in unpredictable steering behavior and accelerated tire wear. Once installed, the unit is non-returnable.
What is your current lift height, tire size, and have you confirmed your pitman arm drop and track bar configuration are compatible with this drag link assembly?
