Description
Is This for You?
- You're running 4–8" of lift on your TJ or LJ and your rear short arm geometry is causing harsh ride quality, limited articulation, and accelerated wear on your rear control arm bushings — this Pro Series rear-half long arm upgrade kit replaces the short arm geometry with longer control arms, rear frame brackets, and a 4-link axle truss, reducing rear suspension angles at lift height for a smoother ride and greater articulation. No welding required.
- You want Currie Johnny Joints at the rear frame ends and GIIRO dual-durometer bushings at the axle ends — the Currie Johnny Joint provides 40° of unrestricted movement with Tough 88 urethane casing for shock absorption and NVH isolation that heim joints cannot match; the GIIRO bushing at the axle end is maintenance-free, self-centering, and NVH-isolating for on-road comfort.
- You're upgrading from a short arm lift or a competitor's long arm kit and want a complete rear-half Pro Series kit with everything included — this kit includes the rear frame brackets, rear upper and lower control arms, 4-link axle truss, and all hardware. No welding required. For the 5" stretch version, see COR-4805302.
The Result
- Pro Series rear-half long arm upgrade kit — rear frame brackets, rear upper and lower control arms, 4-link axle truss, and hardware. Full rear geometry conversion for TJ/LJ builds running 4–8" of lift. No welding required.
- Currie Johnny Joints at frame ends (40°, Tough 88 urethane) + GIIRO dual-durometer bushings at axle ends — maintenance-free, NVH-isolating, self-centering. Lifetime warranty on all control arms.
- Designed for 4–8" of lift. No welding required. For the 5" wheelbase stretch version, see COR-4805302.
The COR-4805017 is Clayton Off Road's Pro Series rear long arm upgrade kit for the 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ Unlimited, designed for builds running 4–8" of lift. This is a standard-length (no stretch) rear-half kit — it includes the rear frame brackets, rear upper and lower control arms, 4-link axle truss, and all hardware. The longer arm geometry reduces rear suspension angles at lift height compared to short arm geometry, resulting in a smoother on-road ride, greater off-road articulation, and reduced wear on related components. The frame-end joints are Currie Johnny Joints — 40° of unrestricted movement with Tough 88 urethane casing for shock absorption and NVH isolation. The axle-end joints are GIIRO dual-durometer bushings — maintenance-free, self-centering, and NVH-isolating. The 4-link axle truss reinforces the rear axle tube at the control arm mount locations. No welding required. For the 5" wheelbase stretch version of this kit, see COR-4805302. Lifetime warranty on all control arms.

Installation & Fabrication Notes
- No welding required for this rear long arm upgrade kit.
- Install the 4-link axle truss to the rear axle before installing the control arms — the truss reinforces the rear axle tube at the control arm mount locations.
- Install the rear frame brackets in the factory rear control arm frame mount locations.
- Install the rear upper and lower control arms and set initial length per Clayton's geometry specifications for your lift height.
- Set pinion angle and anti-squat geometry with the vehicle at ride height after full installation.
- Rear alignment (toe, thrust angle) must be verified after installation.
- Torque all control arm hardware at ride height, not at full droop or compression.
- Verify rear driveshaft angle and U-joint operating angles after installation.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard TJ/LJ wheel and tire combinations at 4–8" of lift. Rear long arm geometry affects suspension travel and tire clearance — verify clearance at full droop and full compression with your specific tire size after installation.
Engineering Question: What is your current lift height on the TJ or LJ? This kit is designed for 4–8" of lift. If you're planning a wheelbase stretch build, order COR-4805302 (5" stretch version) instead — the standard-length kit will not provide the geometry benefits of a stretched configuration. Also confirm your vehicle is a TJ (1997–2006) or LJ Unlimited (2004–2006) — this kit does not fit the JK or JL platform.
